Embark already used AI voices for The Finals, it’s not like this is anything new.

Let’s be real here, AI is here to stay. It’s much better that they hired VAs to provide the source material than the alternative: not doing that.

Hey, cool to see a M&B dev here. I’ve played every game and have a ton of hours!

I think I agree. At some point it won’t make any difference because it will just be another tool. We can have our knee jerk reactions for now, though. Especially for people like lemmy users.

I like this guy’s attitude. His animation has fuck all to do with some EX bungie employee misusing someone else’s artwork.

It really gets tiresome that media is pretty much hype or hate train only.

Finally playing through Cyberpunk 2077. It still has some bugs but nothing that prevents me from enjoying it. I picked up the game and dlc like 40% off recently.

Seems like it was worth waiting for, it’s actually really fun!

Tangentially related but I agree. It makes the long run through sections of the campaign more bearable.

On a more related note, POE2 has checkpoints practically on top of the bosses during the story so you can bash your head against it as much as you want. The only time you’re punished for dying is endgame bosses.

Hollow knight was the game that got me into the genre. I found blasphemous to be utterly boring in comparison.

I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the game but it’s not that different from Super Mario Odyssey. Its from the same development team, and you can clearly see they have a certain design that works.

It’s a meaningful difference, but it’s still, at its core, “go into level, do little challenges to find a thing and progress the story”, except this time it’s banana instead of star.

Bananza is pretty darn similar to the studio’s last Mario game. Same gameplay loop at its core, but with a DK and map destruction skin thrown on top.

I can’t say the same, I enjoy some competitive games from time to time and would rather not maintain two OSs just for when I want to play one.

For now, game pass is a great value. Once they inevitably raise the price and restrict things for pc users, I’ll gladly drop it. I’ll get a lot of value out of it until then though!

It’s interesting, anticheat and the xbox game pass are the only things stopping me from changing my main OS over. Not many other reasons to keep it, really.

Epic denied my refund request for this game because I had just barely over 2 hours of play time, but accepted the request of my friend I bought it with. I’ll never buy anything from them again. I should’ve known not to buy from them.

Really boring game overall. Wouldn’t recommend for full price. Maybe like $20-30.

Fake stuff? Next you’ll tell me that the dragons in that new How to Train Your Dragon movie aren’t really dragons.

I don’t agree at all, the hype was evident, sure, but the procedural generation was largely the reason people didn’t like the game.

You stated that procedural generation isn’t hated, but ‘botching’ the usage of it at release is the piece that irrelevant. The people hated it because of the, admittably bad, procedural generation.

Like procedural generation, generative assets that are done well will be either indistinguishable from hand work, likely because there will be some involved, or will be incorporated in a way that they mesh well with everything else.

Everyone hated the procedural generation in no man’s sky, for example, until enough work was done to make that just a piece of the game.
