I enjoyed playing this after it launched, great game with potential. My only complaint was the Ground Hog Day effect with monster spawns. You’d run into the same critters, in the same locations, over and over again. I figured the game was pretty new at the time, and hoped the devs would eventually randomize spawns to make it less monotonous. If they have, may need to start up a new game.

Have Orca installed, and it started up. Now I either have to figure out copying over all my configuration files, if that’s an option, or rebuild everything manually. After tuning my printer settings and filaments over 2 years, would be a lot to redo.

It’s running great now, played a couple hours this afternoon. Only problem I had was a connection loss with the game server once. That could be anything, not unusual. Otherwise runs really smoothly.

I started the switch over last night. Installed Kubuntu on a spare external ssd. Got Steam installed, figured out how to select the drivers I needed for my nvidia gpu. Even got remote desktop access to the game server I’m running. Linux has amazing capabilities built in, I’m impressed. Took some work to get Enshrouded running on Steam this afternoon (probably not the best game to start off with, it’s problematic) but after a good bit of trying different options it started up. If I can get Orca running for my 3d printer, there really isn’t much I’m going to miss from Windows.

I was really enjoying this game for a couple weeks, and plan to go back to it after it gets a few updates. Just started to get Ground Hog’s Day fatigue after a while. The same critters keep spawning in the same places, over and over again. Gets tedious after a while. Had the same problem playing Small Land. Love the exploring and all, but monotonous critter spawns. Hoping they’ll implement some randomness once they develop the game more.

I bought two copies of this game at the end of 2019 for a friend and I to try out. At $5, why not? We have played the shit out of this game since then, especially when we both got stuck home during covid for a few weeks. Glad it’s finally reached 1.0, enjoying seeing all of the updated POI’s and some new critters. So what if it took this long to come out of alpha? Have had way more than five bucks worth of fun over the past few years.

Just got a copy of Icarus for 1/3 off a couple days ago. Crafting and survival game. Enjoying it so far, has some similarities to Ark, Valheim, etc.

The Motorola model looks to be the standard, but it’s not flawless. I was thinking about doing the same thing, just got a Pixel 7 myself. My Pixel 5 started having problems with the USB port from being plugged into my vehicle a couple times a day, so want a wireless option.
