All characters in the game now are 20 years or older. So you didn’t buy any, no.

Doubt it. They probably don’t care enough to have a reflex. They denied it, and likely aren’t going to give it much more thought now that they have.

There’s been so many vague articles about what happened, I’m not sure we’ll get a clear picture at this point.

Humble page is back up, not sure what happened there.

Currently, only GOG and Itch are still selling this game. EDIT: It seems the game has returned to Humble Bundle.

I know what you mean, but I’m hopeful things will gradually improve now that we’ve had releases like Silent Hill f only a few weeks after Steam.

Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Remaster, now on GOG

Not even sure why I’m hoping for it as I barely have time to play anything anymore. What with kids, I game maybe 3 hours a week total. 25 hours in a game isn’t something I’ve done in a long time. Been buying a lot of short games because of this now. Very much enjoying Radiolight at the moment for instance, even though you can tell it’s built off an asset store. One of the character models didn’t fit in at all 😂.

Was not expecting this so soon after launch. Wonder if we’ll see more newer Bethesda titles soon. I’d love to play Starfield.

Never considered the possibility of preferential treatment in return for a slight delay.

It only had steam DRM on Steam, so I doubt they were to worried considering how easy it is to bypass.

Personally, I suspect they just want to catch a few double dippers.

They’ve barely mentioned it. Any hype is from the fanbase.

I mean, Switch 1 also has keyboard and mouse support. Just not a lot of games support it.

I have a 4070 and it runs well at 1080p which is plenty for me 😊.

Interesting. I just started playing the remake. I wasn’t aware that the game was altered like this. Hope we get the original as well so that I can play them both.

Interesting to see it’s already nr 1 on their bestsellers list considering most of the others are heavely discounted games.

Silent Hill 2 remake has just been released on GOG. Definitely wasn't expecting this to happen less than a year after release.

One of the latest additions to the GOG preservation program is Breath of Fire IV. Never heard of it myself, but it looked interesting, so will probably try it out this weekend.

Shame about Nightdive not getting permission to do Goldeneye. They’ve done great work in the past, and a remaster of Goldeneye would have been awesome to see.

Don’t be nervous, I love your posts, and I’m sure others do to 🙌.

My biggest issue with Eternal was that it seemed like keeping the story consistent wasn’t a priority.

Doom (2016) just launched on GOG, and it's on offer. I purchased straight away as I really enjoyed this one. Wasn't expecting to see more Bethesda games on GOG after Microsoft purchases Zenimax.

Your posts are the highlight of my Lemmy feed ❤️.

Checks backlog. Yup, currently at 427 titles unplayed. Holy cow, didn’t think it was that bad! And I haven’t even added my free games from EGS.

I agree with this, however, I also don’t think they should be allowed to call it purchasing. If you don’t own something, then you didn’t purchase it. The button for games like these should be “long-term rental” or something to that effect.

I can’t buy any of their classic controllers here in Norway. Never understood why we were left out.

Not sure I understand the comparison. Steam DRM is easy to remove, and there’s no device to jailbreak as it’s just a PC.

Yeah, this was my thinking as well. Inflation + preparations for tariffs are likely enough to bring the price to 450.

Developer just confirmed the they found and fixed the bug for the next version.

I honestly felt the same. Then I thought, eh, let’s just try. Turns out I don’t care about my library being split. I just add desktop icons for the games I’m playing and launch them from there without thinking about what platform it’s on.

Yeah, I’m actually a member of his channel on YouTube.

Yes, I’d much rather these be on Lemmy! I don’t want yet another blog to bookmark. By being on Lemmy I also catch new posts pretty quickly in my feed.

I love these posts, but I need to make a bug report for the Boost app, because for some reason these posts are unreadable in that app. Scrolling is just way to sluggish. Not sure if it’s the length, or number of images.

I honestly thought this was an option, but I can’t see it in the client, and the offline installers only offer all patches and the latest version. Not the original version.

I agree that’s daft, and hope that feature doesn’t get paywalled. The more people who do the survey and stress these points, the better.

I got the impression they’re aiming more for a “fan club” kind of thing where you get access to articles/videos/Q&A/voting rights, etc. So more a kind of Patreon like many creators have. I didn’t get the impression that this would in any way change the business model of the store.

I think the only way they can introduce a subscription without backlash is if they make it a purely community thing with a few bonuses. Give people access to special insights into their preservation efforts, special interviews, voting rights, Q&A, occasional free game, etc. If they lock features behind this like more cloud storage, or other stuff that customers simply expect with their game purchase, the press will be all negative.

Yeah, I found that one weird as well. Lego Island wasn’t just the first Lego game. It was one of the first open world games. Well worth preserving. Much more so than the Lego games that got added.

I was quoting them from memory. Could be that I misread that specific question.

I mean, if you’re giving them money monthly for a “Preservation Members Tier” then isn’t that exactly what you’d be doing? You’re just getting some perks as well.

Got the game free with a ROG Harpe mouse of all things. Never played a monster hunter game before, so should be interesting.

I’d love a gog galaxy client for Linux with proton support. I also agree though, that it probably wouldn’t help them become more profitable.

Just did a GOG survey that focused on the idea of a paid membership option on GOG. Seems they're determining what people would be willing to pay extra for. Some of the options were - a tool for backing up offline installers - ability to install previous versions of a game - extra insight into the preservation work they're doing. - voting rights on games to bring into the preservation program. And others that I can't remember.
