In hypersonics Russia currently has a lead over China. Obviously they’re going to catch up rather soon.

Russia has that too, nevertheless Kinzhal and Kalibr (which are lower-Mach and don’t carry a hypersonic glider stage) are both about 10 MUSD. Just the costs of JP-10/decilin are considerable already.

Depending on the specs, I’d assume the price to be a few MUSD, never under 100 kUSD.

It’s economics. Materials and even the fuel used by hypersonics (as in maneuvrable high-Mach glide vehicle) have a certain price tag, even in China. 100 kUSD buys far too little of that, even in Russia and China.

Fat nodes on fast low-latency pipes ran on dual-stacked servers 24/7 reduce ephemeral node churn and aid in node and content discovery. Mobile devices on P2P behind CGNAT and other brain damage are more a problem, than a solution.

It’s a proxy war with capabilities deliberately throttled on both sides. This is why we all are still alive yet. Let’ hope NATO has the brains to accept its loss gracefully. Or, at least, not escalate beyond limited tactical nuclear exchange.

Consors bank so far is an alternative. NFC cards, hardware TAN generators, app not forcing use of proprietary OSses. LineageOS is fine, need to check GOS.

Yeah, even discounted at 400 EUR Pixel tablet is meh. I consider it GrapheneOS hardware tax, so I don’t regret it.

There are other software sources, e.g. I use Obtainium mostly.

No, hardware TAN generator work fine. If the bank wants to force me to use proprietary snake oil it’s time for a new bank. Or using a dedicated old smartphone just for the app.

Seriously? Open computing is dead to you because you can’t order fast food or play games? I don’t even have Google Play on this GOS device. And, by the way, my banking app works fine on LineageOS. Not that I need it, since I use a hardware TAN generator.

Тhe last time I would have bought an Apple it would have been an Apple ][.

You can use the wrong finger three times, then it falls back to PIN entry. Which can be a duress PIN.

I have a 7a I bought new for 320 EUR last december. I find it too small, need 6.7". I charge it werelessly and consider it a disposable.

I expect thorough review from a trusted repo, and verified signatures. You don’t really know what you get with Obtainium piping hot from GitHub.

GrapheneOS is very easy and smooth, but only works on Pixel hardware. LineageOS is more rough around the edges and considerably less secure.

I have been using custom ROMs since CyanogenMod and am currently mostly on GrapheneOS, some of it entirely Google-free.

I run stock, because it’s my work phone. LineageOS would be an option, but I prefer GrapheneOS, which currently limits me to Pixels.

Think long term movement patterns, correlations with others such, anomaly detection.

IMEI/IMSI are collected (and immediately linked, hence deanonymized even if SIM was inserted only once) by cell tower operators. Just not bring your device, period.
