I enjoyed Chip Cheezum and General Ironicus’ playthroughs of the Metal Gear Solid series back in the day, and their 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand playthrough was good. Oh, and the Uncharted series. Chip is very thorough. They’re still putting stuff out to this day.
Also, I know they’re all dated now, but I still miss Super Best Friends Plays and go back and rewatch their stuff now and then.
All games I had no interest in playing myself, but wanted to know what they were about.
I play beam.ng and try not to crash.
I played the first of the reboot series, and enjoyed it well enough, but it was mostly just a fairly bog-standard third person shooter. The really cool parts were the puzzles in the actual tombs but they were too few and far between. I got the other two free on EGS at some pint, but have yet to play them.
However, the isometric games Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris are excellent and I’ve played them a couple of times each. The second one is fun in couch co-op as well. They both run brilliantly on the Steam Deck as well. Check 'em out.
Edit: Just looked on Steam and they’re both currently 85% off until the 11th of November. I can’t think of a better deal right now. Links added

Am I going insane?
I’m not ruling it out ;)
Getting bought out by a private equity firm would be pretty dire for them as that never ends well, but that’s not what I was talking about and I thought that was pretty clear, but you responded as though it was. ‘Legally’ they may be the same, but they’re functionally very different, as the article I linked pointed out, but you chose to keep digging.
Whatever. You’re right. Have a cookie.

Privately owned is not the same thing as private equity. https://irely.com/private-equity-or-privately-owned-does-it-matter/

I was never really happy with the button/stick/trackpad layout on the original controller. This looks to be more in line with the Steam Deck layout, which I’m pretty happy with. I rarely play games on controller that require the trackpads anyway - I prefer a mouse and keyboard for those, but I might get one of these to replace my aging Xbox 360 controller.

The best thing that’s come from Peter Molyneux is the Peter Molydeux spoof account, that actually has some genuinely interesting ideas amongst all the silliness.
House Of The Dying Sun is pretty good for casual fun from what little I’ve played of it.
Picked up Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance and loving it so far. Also Patrick’s Parabox as I played the demo in a recent Nextfest and loved it. Also the 2025 Nurburgring for Automobilista 2 because I cannot resist the allure of The 'Ring.
Edit: Really digging Shinobi, but goddammit I wish I could dodge cancel.

Civilised countries already do. There’s government grants available for games dev in Australia and Canada that I’m aware of, at least. Not sure about the USA, but I don’t really classify that as a civilised country any more, and they do everything government related in the stupidest way possible anyway.

Colin McRae: Dirt. The first one.

It takes me so many tries to beat a fight, I’ve forgotten what the story even is by the time the next cut scene comes up. I don’t really pay much attention to stories in games at the best of times. I’m there mostly for the gameplay and atmosphere. Kill Knight is another one I’ve been enjoying.
I’ll watch your video though.
Edit: I’ve watched the video now. Really good. Thanks.

Did they show every instance of a character called Johnny shitting his pants? There’s one in every game. Like I said, Chip is thorough.
