Aside from the config this looks cool

I bought a Retroid 3+ a while ago. It was an interesting experiment, but ultimately a pain in the ass to configure.

Ideally I just want to select a rom or game and play. I really don’t enjoy spending hours in settings and tweaking every detail to get a have to run decently. I don’t need AAA, but GameCube and PS2 would be cool.

Is that a thing? Or am I doomed to hangout in RetroArch settings?

No, it will work out for them. They just made a 50% profit increase. I doubt if even 10% of subscribers cancel.

It worked for Netflix, Disney+, Hulu… People just need to stop buying shit, but they won’t.

For those interested. The game is actually based on a book from the 80’s called Maze. It was a contest offering a reward for the first to solve it. It’s only a maze in the same in the same sense Blue Prince is

By random coincidence, my wife has the book. You can definitely see the resemblance.

Yes, you get dead ends a lot in the beginning. Eventually you find strategy and permanent upgrades and many more room types.

That’s what I kept asking myself. “How fucking big is this game?”

Well if you don’t get much time to play, be prepared that this one is an onion that takes time. If nothing else dive in long enough to see how much time the dev must have spent putting this together.

You’re not wrong. I’ve had most of these thoughts. I would appreciate more permanent upgrades to save time.

I won’t say it’s a flawless game. The depth is just so unexpected.

I played through the credits run solo. Now that I’m passed that, I’m bouncing ideas off a friend because it might take either of us ages to discover things like how to create certain items, etc.

You have me intrigued. I’ll check this one out.

I felt that way a bit too, but the game has so many layers of puzzles, that even a failed run has more to solve.

It’s kind of like watching Futurama. You still catch jokes on an episode you’ve seen ten times… Except clues in this case.

Blue Prince - Have you played it? How blown is your mind?
Found this on game pass (which I keep meaning to cancel, but here we are). Holy. Shit. It's a cute little cell shaded board style game. Might be fun to toy around with... Maybe just a couple more tries...wait what...? It's a masterpiece. It's genius. It's madness. It's like Myst shot up the 7th guest and started snorting riddles. Did anyone else stumble into this labyrinth? I'm obsessed.

But even the combat hasn’t been exciting. I grab a stick, hit a guy, grab another stick, repeat. The combat is just another way the game slows you down. I’ll plug away a little longer in hopes of plot or excitement, but thus far pushing up every time I open a new door just seems unnecessary.

We should be so lucky. Plenty of games (and movies) already have ad placements. The NHL recently added fucking banner ads with motion to the boards. I can’t even watch that shit anymore.

Firefox doesn’t have an extension for that yet.

Fuck. Advertising.

Last I read, Microsoft had $80 billion in cash on hand. I’m pretty sure they have the resources to run whatever the fuck they want.

I didn’t count handhelds. Seems like a different-ish market. Interestingly, I thought the game gear was way better than original game boy… Except it absolutely ate batteries.

I’ve never heard of the N64 DD. The 90’s had so many weird consoles.

Seconded.

Dreamcast was solid. Decent games. Sega just had their collective heads up their assess. No one had confidence in their consoles. Genesis was a surprise smash hit…then Sega just spewed out consoles; 32x, Sega CD, mega drive, Saturn… Probably more. In that same time span Nintendo released…N64.

No one wants to buy a console that is outdated in a year or two. That game library is tiny and none of your friends have it.

Build a winner, milk it. Release another winner right as the previous one is winding down. Nintendo has mastered that formula.

Adjacent topic… Do you use a credit union? Because fuuuuuuck banks.

My favorite genre. I feel like we’ve seen a resurgence of every other genre. Bring on the RTS games. I would do terrible things for Warcraft 4. I will definitely check this out.

You can play the original courses, but not the booster courses. Once you quit the game and lose your internet, no more dlc.

I suppose if you don’t change games you might be fine. But it feels like a low blow on a system marketed for it’s portability.

If I put it in airplane mode, voila: (sorry for the crummy phone capture). You can still play the default courses, but this is complete bullshit.

I definitely could not access them without Internet. This was after they had been downloaded and played. The error even said as much. Maybe they’ve changed that since? Hopefully…

My only complaint (other than I’ve always hated when they recycle maps from previous games) is that you need Internet connectivity to play these. That completely defeats the whole point of the Switch.
