Both the Death Stranding games do a really good job of using the controller features. I see why rocking a crying baby gets a bit tedious but the touchpad, built in speaker and dual sense on the Playstation control are actually amazing when utilised by games.
It’s a shame that the PS controller isn’t more utilised by developers and Xbox became the standard.

I feel like mods are coming back around to the general public again but I don’t think it’ll go as far as to take over a whole platform. Not even close to that happening.
Also a lot of us didn’t stop with mods and community servers etc but with the rise of PC gaming over the past 10 years of whatever comes a whole group of people who don’t even know how to troubleshoot the basics let alone make games…

Gates of Hell: Ostfront
I’m still getting beat by the ai in skirmish. Normal is too easy and the next difficulty is too hard but it’s a lot of fun.
Apart from that I spent time fixing my Miyoo Flip handheld. The hinge had broken but now it works better then before. Even this v2 version is poorly designed but superglue and a little bodge sorted it.

Achievements were an interesting idea but ultimately they are meaningless. Especially now that they are everywhere… Like big whoop I got an achievement on the Google Games app, GOG Galaxy and Steam…
As for console commands it would be nice but most gamers don’t know that they are doing and would probably ruin it for themselves somehow. Breaking saves files or getting stuck in a crash loop.

Currently the new ratings will only apply to games released after June. “Without applying the rules to current games the policy will do little to protect the children who are already playing them,” Tofield said.
Overall I think the changes are positive but I think they definitely should apply to all and not just new releases.
Games lacking any way for users to report or block players online will receive a PEGI 18 rating.
Also this is interesting. I’m not sure how common it is to have no controls for this in a game but it should certainly make devs/publishers think seriously about it.

Fable 2
I’m a few hours in and its a real throwback to 2009 or whenever as I haven’t played it since launch. It feels very familiar but I don’t really remember much about the game. Once thing to note is that after playing Fable Anniversary, Fable 2 definitely has a vibe of being brightly coloured world but often times quite bland with nothing to show in the open world.

Lots of short and random sessions on my handheld. Colin McRae 2.0, PSO, WWE No Mercy and many more. Dreamcast isn’t really viable but some games can be playable with some tweaking but It’s great for PSX and below though. I set up syncthing to backup saves and screenshots so I can easily access them on my PC too :)

Yes but it’s likely going to be a 5600g and no dedicated GPU at that price point.
edit: 5600g + cooler, Asus a520, 16gb 3200 ddr4, 1tb m.2, 500w psu and case for £400 over here which isn’t far off the target. Entry level at best but it’s all upgradable which is the point.
Shits gonna suck when even this option dissapears :(

Fable Anniversary
I haven’t played much this past week but did finish up the main story and now I’m almost done with the extended storyline in the Northern Wastes area. Also found the Darkwood Bordello quest and did a couple more demon doors/silver keys.
I think one more session and I’m done so looking forward to starting Fable 2 straight after.
edit: completed it this evening :)

I’d say the easiest/quickest way to start is on a console with a headset and using your phone to manage the stream. Just sit down, launch a game and start chatting to yourself. If you have a console that is?
PC isn’t exactly difficult but you’ll need to set up and use something like OBS.
I think making and keeping it a hobby you enjoy is the key to success. Don’t burden yourself with thinking you have to be popular and just play what you want and when you want.

Fable Anniversary
I think I’m in the end game now. I was going to go through and find all the collectables first (silver keys, dolls, demon doors etc) but I think I’ll just finish the story and move on to Fable II.
Forza Motorsport 4
Picked it up a couple days ago and played a few hours already. It’s just as fun as I remember but a shame the 360 doesn’t have online functions anymore for the “rivals” stuff. It still looks really good and makes you realise why the console lasted for so long.
It’s an OpenGL port of Re-Volt and a lot of fun!
Mars Tactics is probably top now that Cairn was released last week. Actually honestly I’m most excited for the Coaches DLC for ETS2 :D
Final Fantasy VII
I was testing out something on my Miyo Flip handheld and started playing FFVII for the first time. Never played it before and so far there have been a few questionable moments but overall I’m enjoying it. Hardware wise it works great but I did have to ask my wife for some help with the story already and unsuprisingly she knew exactly what to do but wants me to play FFIX instead.
