Is it bad that I legit think that Origins is the best in the Arkham series?

Like objectively Knight is a better looking game, and Asylum is a wonderfully crafted experience. But Origins is basically a better Arkham City and has a lot to offer.

The detective segments in particular are really well done and do a good job of leaning into the investigative aspects of Batman early in his career.

I’m still waiting for the price to go down (AKA public domain)

Hot damn that’s a serious update.

  • more pictos
  • more bosses in the tower
  • new level to explore
  • new music
  • FSR 4 support
  • photo mode

I am jealous of the high the devs must be feeling right now.

Very cool.

Also Valve is legitimately one of the only devs who kept original source code from 2004.

Even Blizzard lost the original World of Warcraft code.

MP2 is still a surprisingly good looking game for being a PS2 era title.

What’s up with that source? Seems sketchy to be linking a post from a digital media agency that has basically zero engagement whatsoever.

It’s VERY clear that the devs ADORE Bloodborne specifically. They have literally every mechanic that game has, even how backsteps change your attacks.

It also runs incredibly well considering how visually crisp and clear the game looks.

Outsourced marketing agency working for EA.

They provided us with the videos and screenshots, early review copies and whatnot, but we weren’t privy to the full breadth of the game.

I personally played the demo on the PS3 and was taken aback when the game turned into an RTS as well upon playing the full game.

The gaming landscape was MUCH different then. People wanted serious, gritty games because they were cool. This was the MW2 era and everyone was chasing that. Brutal Legend being a quirky love letter to metal music wasn’t exactly going to sell gangbusters in hindsight.

Hey, I actually worked on the marketing campaign for the game. We were the ones who shipped out review copies, handed out press kits and whatnot.

I still have an Eddie Riggs statue proudly sitting in my closet.

Ask me anything, I suppose.

And to answer the obvious question, we kind of knew about the RTS elements in the game, but not the full extent of them. So when the reviews came in blasting the game for being a bait and switch, that was fully justified.
