Annual Battle Royale / Extraction Games Meetup inspired by Fallout Meetup
Inspired by the annual Fallout meetup aka Fallout Fan Celebration, the NES Super Dodgeball game, and extraction and battle royale games, introducing a new annual meetup proposal. The NES Super Dodgeball game features a beanball, aka Last Player Standing mode, which is similar to a battle royale game, played in an open area with one ball, and with every player for themselves. Catches don't bring a player back in. Our meetup can focus on being a fun and recreational event, also offering something for competitive players or spectators, as well as an e-sports division to help fit the gaming theme. Another division of events to make our meetup unique can be a version of dodgeball inspired by extraction games. Sample rules of Extraction Dodgeball (name TBD) - Ball Types: Blue - Each team starts with 1. This ball can be used to eliminate other players, or to block other throws. The following ball types can't be used to throw or block, and must be taken across a goal line without getting hit by a blue ball to score points - Green - 5 points Purple - 4 points Orange - 3 points Yellow - 2 points Red - 1 point World Battle Royale Dodgeball Series / World Extraction Dodgeball Series - I first began playing dodgeball in my first year of high school in 2001, unaware of any competitive existence of the sport, 12 years later I was selected to represent my country, and I gained experience across 7 countries. I want to help give others the opportunity to experience the pleasure of representing your country in sport, so we can also include a biannual world series for our meetup. Dates / Location: Dates are TBD but for location, as a way to try to give everyone a chance to be part of this new annual meetup inspired by the annual Fallout Fan Celebration, we can try to host this event in every country with enough people wanting to participate, and then selecting the top players from each country to represent their country at the biannual battle royale and extraction dodgeball series. You can help shape the future of this new annual meetup. Are you interested to be a representative of your country for the meetup? If yes, what's your favorite battle royale or extraction games, and what country do you represent? See you on the battle royale and extraction dodgeball courts!

My apologies. Maybe I should copy and paste more info from the link I mentioned at the top that includes more details https://lemmy.world/post/35749413 but I’ll try to rephrase it to make it more convenient for people. Just a sample of the plans anyways to see what type of response I’d get, and working on the next organizational stages of the plans now. Edit: Updated, but will still try to come back later to edit more.

This is the Northern European division of the Half Life Battlefield Dodgeball Meet Up, and I partially got the idea from reading about the Fallout meetups, but ours could still be something unique, such as possibly including a dodgeball event using a set of rules inspired by the NES Super Dodgeball game, and more. I’ll be open to discuss any suggestions or modifications to the sample of the plans. The image attached to this post shows a potential location for the meetup, set on about 437 acres in Norway. We can use this location as an example, since **the official location is TBD** and of course we could find a much cheaper location. You can choose 1 of 6 Factions: **Resistance** **Xen** **The Combine** **Aperture Science** **The Employers** **Race X** I'm a former member of the USA Dodgeball Team, and I first began playing at age 14 in 2001, and to make this a fun meet up, we can have a competitive dodgeball series with one team per faction featuring a video series inspired by Extreme Dodgeball from Game Show Network, which could be used as a way to help advertise the Half Life Meet Up. **4 Potential Half Life Meet Up Options:** **HEADCRAB OPTION: €50 (1,625 people per faction goal)** Full access to the video series inspired by Extreme Dodgeball from Game Show Network, with one team for each faction, and the top players selected from tryouts to represent each faction. **HOUNDEYE OPTION: €100 (813 people per faction goal)** Attend the event, play recreational dodgeball, and try to break a world record of largest dodgeball match. Includes HEADCRAB OPTION. **BULLSQUID OPTION: €100 (813 people per faction goal)** Attend the event, tryout for the competitive dodgeball series, and try to break a world record of largest dodgeball match (with the recreational players). Includes HEADCRAB OPTION. **STRIDER OPTION: €1,000 (82 people per faction goal)** Get a vote in the new organization in the decision making process and get the chance to have your voice heard. Includes HEADCRAB OPTION and either HOUNDEYE or BULLSQUID OPTION. We will have a limit to how many people can attend the first event depending on the location, so we'll be sure to let everyone know that if they miss the limit, they can support the project and save their ticket for one of the following years. If this is the most recent record info, "The largest game of dodgeball involved 6,084 participants and was achieved by the University of California, Irvine at a game organised by UC Irvine students and NLA Sports (both USA) in Irvine, California, USA, on 25 September 2012" then we can aim to find a place that will allow for over 6,000 people for world record attempts. CONQUEST DODGEBALL (official name TBD) - 6 teams per match 6 control points 12 acres playing area 100 people per team 600 people per match Rough draft rules: Only 1 ball per team and 4 refs per ball, with 1 of the 4 refs holding a camera. Hitting a player eliminates them from that round, but a catch only awards ball possession. Players must stay a certain amount of feet away from other players if they have the ball. Control points could be disc golf goals which would be in a neutral zone where players can’t throw / dodge / catch in for safety reasons. After a point is scored, a 3 minute timer is set until another point can be scored at that location. If successful, we can create multiple locations for the series to try to allow more people the chance to participate in the events. €2,300,000 / 6 Factions = €383,333 / 4 options = €95,833 / cost of each option below to show how many people are the goal. HEADCRAB OPTION: €50 (1,917 people per faction goal) HOUNDEYE OPTION: €100 (960 per faction goal) BULLSQUID OPTION: €100 (960 per faction goal) STRIDER OPTION: €1,000 (96 per faction goal) Judging by the numbers above, the number of people who choose options to attend the event: 6 factions x people for HOUNDEYE = 5,760 people + 6 factions x people for BULLSQUID 11,520 + 6 factions x for STRIDER = 12,096 people / 8 year plan (can be less years for smaller goals with new potential locations) = 1,512 people for the first event goal Read more details about it on a potential Southern European division post I made for the meet ups at https://lemmy.world/post/35749413 **I won't make anymore new Lemmy posts with these plans unless we have any big updates, but I've also organized everything into a public FB group if you'd like to check it out on the link below** facebook.com/groups/halflifebattlefielddodgeballmeetup

Hello. This is the US division of the Half Life Battlefield Dodgeball Meet Up, and I partially got the idea from reading about the Fallout meet ups, but ours could still be something unique, such as possibly including a dodgeball event using a set of rules inspired by the NES Super Dodgeball game, and more. I’ll be open to discuss any suggestions or modifications to the sample of the plans. Read more details about it on a European division post I made for the meet ups at https://lemmy.world/post/35749413 The image attached to this post shows a potential location for the meet up, set on 268 acres in New York. We can use this location as an example, since the official location is TBD. $899,000 / 6 Factions = $149,833 / 4 options = $37,458 / cost of each option below to show how many people are the goal. HEADCRAB OPTION: $50 (750 people per faction goal) HOUNDEYE OPTION: $100 (375 people per faction goal) BULLSQUID OPTION: $100 (375 people per faction goal) STRIDER OPTION: $1,000 (38 people per faction goal) Judging by the numbers above, the number of people who choose options to attend the event: 6 factions x people for HOUNDEYE = 2,250 people + 6 factions x people for BULLSQUID = 2,250 = 4,500 + 228 6 factions x for STRIDER = 4,728 people / 2 year plan = 2,364 people for the first event goal

Partially from inspiration reading about the Fallout meet ups, this plan aims to bring together different communities related to gaming, **Half Life Battlefield Dodgeball Meet Up.** I heard a dodgeball world record event had over 6,000 people, so the following plan could be possible. Imagine a dodgeball match with a set of rules inspired by the conquest game mode in the battlefield series, played by 6 factions with a Half Life theme, so you can picture an advertising video from the first event where you'd see many players potentially dressed up as Half Life factions; Resistance, Xen, The Combine, Aperture Science, Race X, and The Employers, running across the Italian hills shown in the image above (official location TBD) throwing dodgeballs. **CONQUEST DODGEBALL** (official name TBD) - 6 teams per match 6 control points 12 acres playing area 100 people per team 600 people per match Rough draft rules: Only 1 ball per team and 4 refs per ball, with 1 of the 4 refs holding a camera. Hitting a player eliminates them from that round, but a catch only awards ball possession. Players must stay a certain amount of feet away from other players if they have the ball. Control points could be disc golf goals which would be in a neutral zone where players can't throw / dodge / catch in for safety reasons. After a point is scored, a 3 minute timer is set until another point can be scored at that location. I made a related post which you can view on the link below which shows how we can make it all possible. https://lemmy.world/post/35749413 If successful, we can create multiple locations for the series to try to allow more people the chance to participate in the events. Someone suggested posting about the Lemmy link above in some Reddit communities, but for some reason my account is getting an error, so I wasn't sure if it was ok to ask if anyone wants to post it there, feel free to spread the word.

We could have multiple locations for different experiences, and I hosted a few dodgeball practices in Odesa, Ukraine in 2021 and I hope to return to Ukraine soon!

I forgot to post another way it all relates to gaming and another popular game it all relates to while still fitting the theme, to bring multiple communities together, and the record-breaking event was never meant to be a requirement to make it all happen. I will try to post another update soon.

I hope to try to offer something for people who can’t attend, and also hope to create plenty of highlight footage to show everyone the experience. Thank you, and if anyone has any suggestions for communities to post this to, I will try.

Hello. I propose a Half Life meet up, and I partially got the idea from reading about the Fallout meet ups, but ours could still be something unique, such as possibly including a dodgeball event using a set of rules inspired by the NES Super Dodgeball game. Energy Balls are generated by Combine Dark Energy reactor systems and transmitted through the plasma conduits of Citadel power transfer systems, and may be the ball type used at the events /s The image attached to this post shows a potential location for the meet up, set on 40 hectares / 98.85 acres in Italy. We can use this location in Italy as an example, since the official location is TBD. €1,950,000 / 6 Factions = €325,000 / 4 options = €81,250 / cost of each option below to show how many people are the goal. During the other months there, I could host dodgeball events for locals, and help prepare those interested in the annual competitive video series. I will try to post another update soon if we have any interest. Judging by the numbers above, the number of people who choose options to attend the event: 6 factions x 813 people for HOUNDEYE = 4,878 + 6 factions x 813 people for BULLSQUID = 4,878 = 9,756 + 6 factions x 82 for STRIDER = 492 people = 10,248 people / 2 year plan = 5,124 people for the first event goal Update: I made another post showing details of how it incorporates other games into the plans to bring together different communities - https://lemmy.world/post/35752141 Second update. 1st October: Potential title change from Half Life Battlefield Dodgeball Meetup to Half Life Battlefield Dodgeball Exhibit to Half Life 'n' the Boys: Dodgeball Exhibit since it takes more inspiration from the 1992 NES game: Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge than it does from Battlefield, but the official title is TBD. I hope to have another update for you soon!

Hello. On the link below, you can download a free early access alpha version of a 2D dodgeball video game, which is about learning or refreshing your memory on idioms. An idiom is a phrase or expression that largely or exclusively carries a figurative or non-literal meaning, rather than making any literal sense. This version is free to play, but proceeds of the game sales will go to help me host more English speaking clubs and dodgeball events in Ukraine, to help people stay active and healthy in a fun way, and to help Ukrainians practice their English speaking skills. I’m from the USA, but I was in Ukraine for a few months of this year, seven months in 2021 when I hosted a few English speaking clubs and dodgeball events, and a few months before, and I was glad to have the opportunity to help Ukrainian people in these different ways, even if it might only be something small. I have documents to live and work in the Netherlands which requires me to stay in their country at least six months per year, but I’m ready to return to Ukraine asap if the English game project is successful. https://corygreekgodofdball.itch.io/dodgebnb-chapter-2
