Yeah, turning up the lighting (essentially) on certain aspects of the background seems like an actual accessibility use case. There are probably far more direct ways of doing it that don’t interfere with artistic intent as much. I wonder if we will ever get away from raster lighting in a way that isnt buttfucking computationally expensive.
What you don’t understand is that the average consumer just does not give a fuck. The ethics of their purchasing decisions are invisible to them and they can’t understand how their decisions leave an impact. This is true everywhere, but it is especially true of gamers. They will buy your slop year after year after year with no qualms.
Gamers wont even get off Windows because they wanna keep playing fortnight. By far the least scrupulous set of consumers on earth, ready and willing to sling hash for slop.
