The steam ban was ages ago, the news was recent. They decided to go loud about the steam ban as they released, its clearly pr. I dont think they got banned intentionally but the differwnce is a little academic when you cry this loudly about it.

There’s a lot of suspiciously crap games that manage to explode to the top of the steam trending list. I’ve been bitten before.

This one has art that looks so generic I can’t even tell if they’re screenshots or promo pics unrelated to the game. It suddenly makes sense now I know it’s genai. It’s not trying to communicate anything to a user it’s just vibes man.

Shadows is great tbh. Can’t speak about sales figures but it’s the most fun I’ve had with AC in ages. The jumps being ninja roll jumps is perfect.

Valhalla was far too serious, a schlocky Japanese revenge flick is much more on target.

It peaked at 4 with the fall from heaven 2 mod

The draw from Skyrim and other ES games is wandering around and stumbling on cool stuff.

They both removed wandering by having you fly your ship to a planet, and removed the cool stuff by making the planets procgen.

It’s good fun exploring the cities and space stations but then that’s it. They designed out the entire game in favour of more procgen content.

Aside from the unacceptable violence, the story here is far more complicated than that.
They were just impossible to work with.
