Question, do you think getting the game without ever buying any dlc. the game is enjoyable? is it how it is meant to be played?
the point of a car is to drive, if I buy a car it should drive. if I need aftermarket parts for something else that is a different issue.
another example, Age of Empires II. Chuck full of DLC, and I don’t think anyone ever complained about it, and in fact it is celebrated. because they did a full game, and instead of making a sequel, they just did new campaigns, and they are still releasing more. You can actually get the base game and never spend a peny more, and it is exactly how it was meant to be played on release.
The problem is that game companies are run by executives who want to prioritise profit, and they ignore user experience or worker welfare. amd end up making shitty products then fire the programmer who actually made the game.

not infinite lines, just enough to find tune a model for a specific character.
also, i mean proper voice actors, the ones that can make countless distinct characters with different voices and accents.
i don’t mean buying someone’s voice, i mean hiring a voice actor to make up a specific character and have ownership of that character.

without that tech they would have hired a voice actor anyways, or what would be better, get a voice actor, create a character, have him voice a shit ton of lines with different emotions, timber, whispers… fine tune a model in that character, that would make every character sound unique and much less robotic.

instead of writing pages of dialogue, write a lot of back story, personality, interests, knowledge, info they have, quests they have to share, sample of how they talk…
fine tune models… this way each character would sound unique, rather than standard chat gpt.
a good prototype would be about a village with about a dozen of NPCs.

I assume there are licencing issues, as they might need to negotiate the all the rights for the songs again.
on the other hand, would it be possible to “cheat the system” and allow users to also get the original game, unremastered and if the original, with the original music is installed, the remastered version could be made to read the music from the original files.
maybe even just call it an extra 1$ dlc for the original unremastered.
