Xbox emulation is mostly bad because there wasn’t much need for it. Many Xbox games got either a ps2 or pc port. For the few exceptions, Xboxes are very hackable and were pretty cheap for a long time after the 360 released.

Hopefully it’ll finally usher in their downfall. Can’t imagine the slop they’ll kick out with AI generated voices, models, scripts, and other assets.

I’m gonna be disappointed when it somehow makes them the most profitable game company of all time instead.

I have the setup you described as well as a steam deck. The deck is a more polished experience with mangohud, game scope, auto updates, and other things I’d have to setup and maintain.

With any luck SteamOS will be installable on most pcs and then you can build or buy a steam machine.

I’m a little hopeful that Sony is going to get better at PC support. The Japanese PC gaming market has doubled in size a few times in the last 10 years but companies at Sony’s scale can be slow to adapt. Maybe it’ll take them another 10 years but I think eventually they’ll give up on exclusives.
