I’ve always suspected I might be susceptible to gambling addiction so I stay out of casinos.

Instead, I go to the arcade. Which is like a low stakes child casino. Win a bunch of tickets and then either buy something stupid with them, or, just straight give them to some kid.

My point being, we’ve specifically constructed casino-like facilities for children and it’s regularly accepted, so why should Balatro be different?

I keep pulling the hermit card out of my tarot deck, but it hasn’t doubled my money! Have I learned incorrectly??

I’m incredibly wary of what will happen if/when he retires or dies. I hope they have some sort of iron clad succession plan in place.

I was semi recently explaining to someone that monitors are basically small TV’s, with more variety in sizes, form factors, and refresh rates.

I knew GPUs had gotten bigger but then I built an all new PC, upgrading from a 2080 to a 4090.

Holy shit. That thing is fucking huge, man. I was literally stunned pulling it out of the box. Just set it down and stared at it for awhile trying to process technological progress. It’s like 8 times the size of the GPU I had in 2006.

They cancel shows that aren’t binge watched in the first eight weeks because of payment agreements made with the production companies. They have to pay royalties for all views that occur outside of that defined period. Which is still profitable, it’s just less so.

But they’re not interested in making good, watchable content. They’re only interested in profit, and producing a show which is watched immediately is what maximizes that profit.

I tried to replay GoldenEye on switch and just couldn’t. The control scheme is just too dated and I can’t get past it.

Slowly making progress in Dave the Diver, which is quite entertaining. Also working on Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader.

Also collaboratively playing The Sims 4 with my wife, and I’d forgotten how fun that could be.

I’d highly recommend Patrick’s Parabox. It’s an incredible little puzzle game that revolves around paradoxical movements of pieces in each puzzle. I don’t know how to adequately describe it, but it was incredibly unique.

I never managed to beat this but it has by far the highest play time of any mobile game for me.
