When you are talking about “popular” games, you mean service games that are often some kind of multiplayer games. Each of them binds a lot of players and is big and popular, indeed. But these are only a few compared to the amount of games that have been released in the past decade. Let alone released games from 2024 that are listed on imdb.com are 1551 Imdb.com
So yes, I can imagine 90% is right since the most games are no service games and do not require some shitty kernel level anti cheat.
For bugs: I have no idea since I only use linux for non-gaming tasks.

If they would, no one could ask anything pre purchase.
But I also don’t like the forum in there because of the bad atmosphere. Also I don’t know whether it is because of a special group or because the general communication style in games is toxic, dumb, aggressive and egoistical as fuck… Like in almost every ingame chat.
Uhm, how it is related to games? And moreover: a link would be nice.
Update: I guess I found it. Not funny to me.

Well I use Linux, but not on my gaming pc. I would switch to it because its all amd, but I don’t want to because it lacks the driver suite for my gpu (adrenaline) and I don’t want to install a bunch of small applications to gain a small fraction of options it offers.
It’s a pitty. Because I realy want to ditch windows since its newest iteration.

Hm… Ok. Thats crazy. Someone wants to create a new branch of income it seems.
Thats a fucking shame. Now I need to reconsider my plans to buy Borderlands4.
But how will they do it? Which information is gathered from which source? Most of my accounts only hold as little informations as possible. Also my Os knows nothing about me. My MS account neither.
On the other hand my steam 2FA need some mobile information.
Yeah, like DNU said, something more grindy. Or something difficult. So more like PoE where you can play thousands of hours without seeing everything or knowing everything. Or like Black Desert Online with its afk mechanics. Or a game with a lot rng like dwarf fortress or rimworld.
Or speedrunning stuff. But some kind of idle… 😅 indeed unexpected.
Well maybe it is because said games are my timesinks… Even though I haven’t played any game as long as he/she did.

😄 there are a few:
Celeste -> great platformer. Maybe the best I ever played.
Tiny Thor -> another good platformer
Sea of Stars -> I have some mixed feelings about this. All in all a good game. The visuals are fantastic. The story is ok (so far), the music is very cool. The battle is good but to be honest, for a round based combat system it has to be compared with games like final fantasy and it is much much flatter. Once you got the basics, no suprises will be left. And this is a pity. I expected the battle system to be the heart of the game… But it seems like the visuals are. 🤔 As I said, good all in all, but not as expected.
Brotato: This could be my game of the year 2023. Awesome game loop. Nice for a “short” round inbetween…
Cosmoteer: Awesome game if one likes to build stuff and management aspects in games. But not as easy as it seems first.
Ember Knights: great co-op rouge lite. Played it when it was in early access and it was great already. I should take a look into it, now it is finaly released.

I almost never finish any game because I am sick of quests and (modern) stories or the way they are told in general. Because of that, I mostly play games without a definitiv ending. But my last “story” ending was Diablo 4 and I haven’t liked it. It can hardly be caled an ending… Moreover I was happy that I finaly finished the story, so I was able to see what the game will be after it… It was also pretty disappointing. So I started another char in PoE again 😃
Before this I guess it was “It takes two” and it was great.

I am not from america but our youth imported your moral/ethical/politics discussion shit on games. And it is so anoying. As if any company would care about moral integrity. Have you noticed that most companies which supported pride month with a little rainbow icon did not in all the countries where this is suppressed and forbidden?
The whole purpose of most companies is to gain money. And they will do whatever is necessary and legal in countries they operate in. And it is a own “discipline” called localization to exactly knowing about their possiblities 🤷🏻♂️ And like others said: most companies are up to no good. Energy, gas, food, clothes, cars… Pharma…
My advice #1: play the games, pay as less as possible. My advice #2: The field of indie games is great. I rarely play AAA. But I also just care about gameplay and don’t like stories in games anymore.
Some cool games: dead cells, children of mortar, ember knights, mario kaizo hacks, path of exile (is not indie anymore but great anyways), brotato, cassette beasts, cosmoteer, rimworld, elite dangerous, hades, rogue legacy 2, noita, stardew valley, subnautica, super meat boy and so far and so on 😉

It is very satisfying to read news about a declining Ow2.
They killed my all time favourite game, that I maybe played most ever since. But 5v5 and f2p where such bad ideas. Season 1 started, I played it one more week after and quited. I miss it, but I now there is no fun in this game for me.
Looking forward to new bad news about the game.
Another possibility is, microsoft drops access to kernel level. This would solve all these problems at once. No more cheats on kernel level, no more anticheat on kernel level are needed.
Unfortunately I think Microsoft will avoid doing so, because it would remove one of the last barriers to switch to linux.
