So many solid suggestions here already. I have a soft spot for the more retro styled games, and despite being short Gato Roboto is one of my favourites. It just feels so good to play.

How are other publishers supposed to avoid the release date if it keeps changing?

I have a Razer Kishi and I love it, on mobile I use it with a pair of Hammerhead wireless buds to play xcloud. It is one of the most compact options and the USB connector supports power through to the phone. The small size also means the sticks, buttons and triggers are also small. If you use a case on your phone it will have to come off when you slot it into the pad, there’s no room unless the rubber holders are removed, when I did this the setup became wobbly. One last thing will be to check that your phone will fit, a Galaxy S23 Ultra is too big.

I thought Stadia was a great service, I bought games and played them pretty much everywhere. I still have my controller which is now used with my Steam Deck.

I’m a huge fan of Borderlands so would recommend that and I’m also a huge fan of Halo, the Master Cheif Collection is an absolute bargain considering what you get. Your brother with the Xbox will need to get Game Pass of some sort to join in for any games that are not free to play. Halo Infinite is free to play and has a PvE game mode, if that tickles your fancy.

I don’t buy it. PC and Nintendo are more than enough competition. Sony has always been this way and they always will be. Company culture doesn’t change, Nintendo will always be letigious, Microsoft will always seek acquisitions and Sony will always be arrogant.

As good as the Steam Deck is a smaller option would be nice. This sector of the industry is still trying to find the ideal form factor.

If the lite model looked more like a Steam Deck and was priced more like a Steam Deck it might be a more tempting option.
