Been playing a lot of (emulated) Pokemon Violet this week. Just getting into the post-game now.

(lol, get rekd, Nintendo. I’ll emulate whatever I want, and you can’t stop me.)


My next phone will be a Motorola with Graphene OS.

I’m thinking maybe my next phone is a dumb phone that can only make calls and maybe text. They still make those, right?

When I only have a short time to play, I’ll open this up for some dumb fun. Just recently got the Hot Wheels DLC, and that’s definitely worth trying. Takes a normally half-serious racing game and adds loops and boosters and upside down track and all kinds of other bonkers shit. So now you’re taking real-life serious cars on completely ludicrous, impossible tracks through cool scenery. Huge smiles were had.

I don’t give a shit about anybody’s job. I’m just talking about what AI might or might not be able to do a decent job of and not ruin the product.


IMO, ai-generated assets are not a deal-breaker, especially if it’s done in moderation. For example, using AI to generate the texture for a human-made 3D model.

If major portions of the game are AI-generated, that’s going to be terrible. But if they’re just using it as a shortcut to fill in some of the minor details, that’s probably fine.



Without this scandal I would have never known a sequel was on the way.

Makes me wonder if this might actually all just be kayfabe to drum up free publicity…


I don’t care what they do … I just really hope that a decent Subnautica sequel comes out of it.


Microsoft devs aren’t allowed to use Microsoft Teams?

That’s what I’ve heard. Completely hearsay, though.

Microsoft devs, maybe? I hear they’re not allowed to use Teams to communicate at work, for unspecified reasons.

Huh… Didn’t have that issue on my hardware, which made it a lot more enjoyable, I guess. Maybe try again at some point if you’ve ever got a significant hardware upgrade.

(And, honestly, the missions are kind of a pain a lot of times. It’s actually more of a heist and getaway game when you play the missions. I mostly just wanted to play it in sandbox mode and destroy stuff.)



Haven’t tried the Space Age expansion yet, so not sure what to expect there on time commitment.

Massive increase in time commitment there.

You still start the same way, but now launching a rocket isn’t the end of the game … it’s just the end of the first act. Now you also build orbiting space stations and interplanetary spaceships (which require launching dozens of rockets to build), so you can go colonize 4 more planets, each with their own new challenges and new resources to gather and exploit. Each one of those can easily take just as much time to colonize as your original planet, if not more. You’ll need to build autonomous spaceships to regularly ferry supplies and finished products around the solar system to where they’re needed. Then finally build a big, badass spaceship capable of reaching the edge of the solar system, and that is the new win condition.

After playing Space Age, the original Factorio game seems like just a tutorial level.


Cyberpunk is an awesome game now, years after its release.

It was rough and buggy at release, but now it’s everything it should have been from the beginning. (I prefer to play on PC so I can have the mod that turns some people into furries, though!)
