I have 4 computers, only gaming one is still running Windows, other 3 were moved to Linux few years ago when Microsoft started with forced online accounts bs because I couldn’t be bothered dealing with stupid bypasses. Two are running Ubuntu, one is running Fedora. Those are never going back to Windows.

Lootboxes as currently used in Overwatch 2 is fine. You simply get them for playing. And that’s that.

8 cores 16 threads is currently a sweetspot if you’re a gamer but also do some compute here and there.

I got my Galaxy Watch 4 for 130€. I think it was 1 generation old at the time…

It’s so fun that I haven’t bought a single Ubisoft game for some 20 years… Because they suck, their games are generic made on exact same design and their always-on DRM bullshit is just cancerous. Ubisoft was cool in the 90s and early 2000s and then became rotten to the core.

Black Flag was actually one of the best Assassin’s Creed games as far as I heard from fans.

This is why I’ve been boycotting Ubisoft for literal decades now. I refuse to even pirate their shit. Fuck them. They used to be cool company in the 90s, had bunch of cool franchises and then turned into this soulless greedy corporate bullshit just being absolute dicks to gamers and releasing all games with identical concept to Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, for 20 games in a row…

It’s a shame that Microsoft owns id Software and Bethesda now. They’ll fuck that up too along with all the major IPs they own. Coz they are stupid too large corporate bullshit that only looks at numbers and nothing else.

I want to go Linux on my main gaming system coz I like KDE and GNOME more than ugly ass Windows 11, but I just don’t want to deal with compatibility crap.

When Ai vibe coders are in charge of projects… They have no fucking clue what they are doing, but Ai yo! Start menu is slow? We have no fucking clue how to fix it.

It’s called internal upscaling resolution. That’s where something is “low quality” upscaling. Some effects are done at full or half resolution regardless of upscaling you use, some use the same resolution as upscaler.adding shimmering from low resolution to the boiling and it looks worse.

That’s not how it works. With low quality upscaling you’d just amplify the noise because it’s internally processed at lower resolution.

That’s not down to graphic card. It’s the game. I had horrible boiling in Marvel Rivals on RTX 3080 to a point I preferred screenspace reflections over ray traced Lumen reflections. Still do on Radeon. Surprisingly, Oblivion Remaster running Unreal Engine 5 doesn’t have this issue even on RX 9070 XT.

I do care about upscaling and ray tracing, which is why I didn’t go with AMD for last few generations. RX 9070 XT felt like the right time as they made huge improvements. Especially FSR4 is easily comparable to DLSS and I use it as antialiasing replacement while boosting performance. FSR2, while it works it turns into pixelated mess during fast movements and has a lot of ghosting. FSR4 is near perfect.

What I also love is how AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames just work in all games with minimal artifacting and Radeon Chill is what I especially love with summer coming in. It decreases power consumption dramatically and thus heat output to levels RTX 5070Ti couldn’t ever achieve despite being more efficient in raw tests for power consumption. All while not affecting experience. It’s so good I’m using it in Overwatch 2 and Marvel Rivals and I can’t really tell a diffeeence, it controls framerate that seamlessly.

Radeon RX 9000 series are amazing. Apparently sales are doing great, but obviously NVIDIA is holding monopoly and people are brainwashed to just buy NVIDIA no matter what.

I love the concept of tower defense games where you essentially deal with waves of stronger and stronger enemies. Or Killing Floor with same concept, but in form of first person shooter. Games like this are super fun and entirely devoid of stupid sweaty pros that fuck up every PvP game ever.

I mean, sure, but that was VR specific game. Which I found mod for regular play with mouse and keyboard, but there is no friggin way I’m paying 60€ for something I’ll have to mod and play in its unofficial form. So I skipped Alyx entirely. I don’t care about VR and never will.

I don’t know why would it have this mythical status. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Half-Life 1 and loved its remake Black Mesa even more because of how they transformed Xen into something actually likable to a point Xen was almost favorite part for me. Half-Life 2, while it was great game by any metric. What do people expect from it to be “something more”? For me System Shock 2 and Deus Ex from years prior are significantly more advanced and more immersive games. I could almost say the same for Bioshock which was inspired by those two. It’s only that much they can do to the game to still be Half-Life while elevating it to something “more”. Like, if they keep it just a shooter like it was, many might complain it’s too basic and if they add too many complex things to it like inventory, skills and leveling, it might not be Half-Life anymore as us old folks know and remember it. So, what to do? I have no doubts it’ll be an interesting experience either way, but people need to ground their expectations because of the above reasons.

Valve can surprise or even shock me with something new, a ground breaking innovation, but I really have no expectations.

I was anticipating Killing Floor 3 which was a killer PvE in first 2 games, but third one was ass during beta so they postponed it until they fix stuff. KF is one of more fun PvE games out there.

I wish Deadlock was a PvE. Being PvP with some ai bots sprinkled in between it’ll just be same rage inducing crap as all PvPs.

Bullshit, because using stupid chainsaw was games main loop mechanic to even get ammo…

For me the forced mechanics of glory kills, chainsaw and flamethrower put me off in Eternal. Instead of managing ammo by collecting it and smart use you were forced to do above mechanics and they felt, well, super forced and stupid.

Doom 2016 gave you option, collect normal way or use chainsaw. I never used chainsaw through entire game for it and always had enough ammo. I played it on Nightmare iirc.

From what I was told by Digital Foundry when they previewed game’s engine, they mentioned The Dark Ages doesn’t have any of these forced mechanics which is cool.

Best Doom game of them all. Doom Eternal is nowhere near as good, not even close. I wonder how new Doom The Dark Ages will go, but it already looks better than Eternal because it has no stupid forced mechanics…

RTX 5070 is not pulling enough power to matter. Issue is with RTX 5090 that is so close to the power rating of the cable that every defenct in it can actually show up as failure.

Chip fabbing allocations are limited and what chips for Ai datacenters takeup, the desktop GPUs don’t get made. And what’s left of it are desktop chips sold for workstation Ai models like the RTX 5090 and even RX 7900 XTX because they have more memory. Meanwhile they still sell 8GB cards to gamers when it hasn’t been enough for a while. Whole situation is just absurd.

BYD was battery and drivetrain provider turn car maker. Most others go the other way or not even that as they just buy cells from others.

BYD is at least legit huge and expanding, because China is a huge market in itself and they are expanding to western markets.Tesla is (over)valutated based on hype, promises that never get delivered and straight up bullshit.

Though BYD needs to do something with their interiors. If that flies in China, it absolutely won’t in Europe. All touch filled with gimmicks and gizmos is not that cool.

RX 9070 XT doesn’t increase framerate by 100% compared to current card I have which is usually when I buy new one, but boy AMD nailed it this time around. If availability and prices are good I might do something stupid and go AMD this time around after years of being on NVIDIA. These cards look amazing.

MSRP is just a bullshit number with no meaning at this point when even vendors themselves are fucking greedy scalpers…

Good thing I bought my Galaxy phone just 1 year before everyone fucking increased their updates to 6 and more years. Fuck me. Now Galaxy A56 will get updates for longer than my S23 Ultra. Hardware is great, but they really fucked me on software side…

Oh no, I thought the THPS 1 and 2 games from 20 years ago or so.

Wait, are these like a remaster of the original 1 and 2 games?

I never got hooked on to more “simulation” NFS games like ProStreet and Shift series except NFS Porsche 2000 which was amazing and I wish EA would just fix the damn thing to run and look nice on modern systems if they can’t make remaster due to licensing. But I have no hopes and no one managed to hack it as fan made patch to this date…

I too have obsession with NFS series, because the concept with cops is just so cool and adds that extra variable in the racing so that each race is different and not just sterile holding the best line which is just so dull and boring.

There were very few other racing games that would draw me in so much as NFS. I can only count few of them through literal decades. Lotus 3, Test Drive 3, Stunts 4D, Screamer 2, Re-Volt, Split/Second and Mercedes World Racing. Test Drive Unlimited was also pretty interesting, but I only used it to just drive around through Hawaii.

It’s all down to performance for that price and how it will compete with NVIDIA and also itself with RX 7900 series.
