Everyone kept praising Baldur’s Gate 3. I even watched gameplay of it.
It was buggy on the supposed release, especially with a quest that had been part of the beta FOR YEARS rendering itself incompleltable and stealing my items in the process.
Then I got sucked into a party wipe, and a fight I had beaten earlier suddenly became an impassable slogfest.
$90 AUD for 3 hours of gameplay and a piss poor character creator. Because orcs had fuckall compared to the other races.
I am never trusting popular opinion again.

I dunno, I think GTA5’s true ending with the trio working together to close off each other’s loose ends is a pretty satisfying finale.
I agree with the assessment in regards to 4 though. To me, it always came off as ‘nothing gets better, even if we have to shoehorn in a reason for that because we didn’t actually make a different finale’.

EA and Ubisoft I can see happening in theory.
Konami is an entirely different beast. The Japanese industry is so ingrained in a different ethos altogether, I just don’t see any public-backed push for change working the way it would with a Western publisher.
Just look at the direction Nintendo is heading. Do we have any actual chance of stopping that train?
Why???
Buggy releases that are horrifically overpriced, go in completely wonky directions, and in general are so generic and repetitive and yet continue to push all other potential competition from the market.
Firaxis is awful.
