Usually they don’t have more money than they know what to do with, what money have have gets funnelled into their addiction, the rest becomes debt.

Damn, RPGs peaked in the 80s for you. What did these games do right that nothing has done better since?

Out of curiosity, what are some games that you consider contenders for greatest RPG?

Switch 2 GPU is similar in spec to a laptop RTX 2050 with more vram and better DLSS, I wouldn’t say that’s mid range gaming PC.

I’d say something decent will exist by the end of the decade if Nintendo can’t stop development of emulators.

It’s not the best selling console of all time. It had one of the best launches, but the PS2, DS and OG switch sold 160, 154 and 152 million. Switch 2 only has 5 million so far.

Not the greatest guide. 2 and 3 shouldn’t be causing overheating unless you are running a potato. I don’t know the impact of 4, but I can’t imagine that its much on modern PCs. 1 and 5 are the only real advice. Blocked vents and dust are the other two good points, everything else seems questionable. Tab overload isn’t a problem anymore, both Chrome and Firefox manage and deactivate tabs you haven’t recently used.

Heroic Launcher on Linux lets you install Epic games and add them to Steam to launch. You don’t get any Steam features, you can just launch the game from Steam. This works both in desktop and steam deck.

Gives me the same vibes as the wreckfest early access, hopefully they can deliver on their vision this time.

The switch is more or less the same when docked, only additional feature is you get to use a higher resolution.

I’ve tried luanti several times and I’m trying to dial in the graphics settings for best performance with the lack of in game settings menu was always a such a pain I’d give up. I’m super excited about his change.

Whenever I’ve used this plugin, the screen jumps around when loading a game, annoying bug.

Edit: I installed this plugin again and the bug seems to be fixed now yay!

Dedicated GPUs were pretty common in the 2000s, they were required for most games, unlike the 90s where it was an unstandardized wild west. The failure rate had to be higher, I know I had 3 cards die with less than 2 years use on each card in the 2000s. Cases back then had terrible airflow and graphic demands jumped quickly.

I distantly remember a guy who was dying of cancer, but kept up an absolute tirade against EA. There was so much ill will then, it would be funny if they made the same mistake.

I don’t know if you are talking about Total Biscuit, but you’ve reminded me of Total Biscuit.
