I guess we will see very soon with the release of Arc Raiders…

(According to IGN it’s a Fortnite clone pretty much because you have a pickaxe and it’s TPS)

I think the devs are making a mistake by reacting interacting the trolls.

They are people frothing at the mouth and sent on that steam page with a political agenda. It seems the devs think they will “change their minds” after they brought the topic of slavery for no reason…

So I will add this to my wishlist check if I can report the posts that are straight up insults or racists and move on.

The trolls in question can’t stand that this game might be successful and there is nothing they can do beside review bombing at release which should trigger Steam’s detection.

Don’t feed the trolls and entertain them with a discussion…

Not many mentioned that but maybe a publisher can help ?

My understanding is that the right publisher could give you good feedback for your game and can have good knowledge of what works or not. I’m not saying like some big publishers but one that shares your vision for the game and could help.

I would make everything look like CoD and not let anybody join a match of their choice (no match browser). Also the field will be 70% smaller so that players dont get bored or miss shots. Who wants to watch missed shots anyway ?

What if I actually want to see the review bombing and it’s effect before buying the product ?

Really, the more I think about this change, the less convincing it is. It will hide review bombing of games that might have warn you of something… I think it will just muddy and make the Steam score way harder to assess and use.

I personally don’t look forward to this new feature. I dont want my local language to be used. And that will be one more program that will constantly nag me about if I want to translate some review or only shows the one in my language by default.

I just want to use my currency and being able to just speak English.

I dont want steam to become like Firefox and decide for you that you do need some translations for stuff…

Since I dont think the language you speak should have any relevancy to the quality of the game I have no interest for reviews that are not in English.

So I just hope this “let’s localize for you everything” trend will stop.

I dont want french reviews of French games made in france. I just want English reviews of games and the score for all reviews.

Currently the localization of the reviews is the thing that I dislike the most with steam which goes to show how good I think the product is.

To be clear… If you have already signed, thank you but do not sign again.

(I know that’s not what you wanted to say, I just want to make sure it’s not misunderstood).

Shouldn’t be too difficult to fix for the devs. At least until the griefers invent a new strategy.

The game is young though it’s not like it’s surprising or unusual that there is bug and exploits still active.

I’m tempted to try it out as an avid Rocket League player.

I’m just not sure there is something in Rematch that I cannot already get somehow in Rocket League.

How grindy is the game?

I have multiple friends that told me that Conan exile was quite grindy and that they are not convinced by Dune because of that.

It’s too bad because I think they would appreciate the game but are too concerned by the fact that it would take a lot of time to get good stuff.

Eheh for a second I thought EA was Electronic Arts.

Like a beta game is unstable but before the beta you get the EA stage/release where it’s just doesn’t work but is still for sale.

I bought OW at release and it’s one of the best value I ever got in gaming.

The game was around 40€ many years ago and I had all heroes since release, plenty of lootboxes and skins. And I played hundreds of hours on it. Yes they killed their game in the recent years but that doesn’t mean I didn’t get any value from it. I honestly think they were pretty generous for the first years considering it wasn’t price at 60€ like some CoD.

I get it but I don’t really mind when it’s a very old game. It’s not like your copy of R6 siege has that much value many years after release.

Same goes for OW.

I have played something like 50 hours of deadlock a few months ago and IMO it has strong MoBa elements. I actually think it’s more Dota but in TPS rather than a TPS trying to Dota.

The same aspects of Dota are strategically important in Deadlock IMO. You need to farm, you need to support, map control is very much relevant… I think it’s very close to Dota in what it requires from a player in terms of skills.

I would even say that you probably can be a very good deadlock player without good aim because the strategy is absolutely crucial. Also I have both seen experienced dota players and people with 0% experience in that genre discovering Deadlock and it makes a big difference in the learning curve. Dota players will be confused by the TPS aspect but are very fast in getting good in itemization, strategy, teamplay… They know what to do but are just not sure how to do it in a weird TPS form.

I think it will be very hard for another MOBA to challenge the competition…

LoL, Dota2 and even Deadlock? They better bring something very innovative otherwise this project is doomed.

A great game for sure. Probably my most awaited game release.

Only issue is that I need to finish factorio before that release and I wasn’t expecting the factorio DLC to extend the game by like 3x…

Anyway Manor lords was my most played single player game for 2024 in its rather barebone build and it was already a blast. Something that brings back when I was playing Settlers as a kid but with modern graphics.

IMO Path of Exile 2 is kind of like “Diablo 4 classic”.

Sure it lack some QoL just because it wants to be old school but it nails the mood of the older Diablo games.

I also played Diablo 4 and there is no way I will return to that game. They clearly don’t have a good formula anymore.

No.

Couldn’t even find a rumor of it. It wouldn’t make sense for steam to stop supporting such a large part of their userbase.

Good Ol clickbait title.

Not that they are much worse than the rest of the tech press but I avoid The Verge. They have a bad track record and regularly release really bad and misleading articles.

Thanks for the heads up.

I really don’t like that new Frame interpolation tech and think it’s almost only useful to marketers but not for actual gaming.

At least I wouldn’t touch it with any competitive game.

Hopefully we will get third party benchmarks soon without the bullshit perfs from Nvidia.

Ah, Viri4thus, truly the unsung hero of Champions Tactics! It’s rare to witness such tireless dedication to a game that the rest of the internet has left to gather digital dust. Ubisoft should seriously consider renaming the game in your honor—Viri4thus Tactics: The Last Stand.

You’ve single-handedly carried the torch for what is perhaps the most misunderstood masterpiece of our time. Forget player bases or community support; all Ubisoft really needs is you. Your passion is like an NFT: unique, immutable, and impossible to trade because no one else would dare claim it. Thank you for your service. If there’s ever a Champions Tactics 2: The Search for Players, I’m sure you’ll be there leading the charge.

Alone, but proud.

You can support Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles and get your very own champion for just $1,079,999.96 (Price visible on the marketplace).

Also you would be the first commenter on that Youtube video and showoff your champion.

Why this game is amazing and you should support it :

Play-to-own Model: Champions in the game are NFTs, allowing players to own, trade, and sell them outside of the game.

Tactical Gameplay: Players build and command teams of champions in strategic battles, blending classic turn-based tactics with the excitement of collecting rare characters.

Blockchain Integration: Using blockchain technology ensures transparency and security in transactions, giving players real ownership of their digital assets.

Engagement with Web 3.0: Ubisoft’s NFT-based game taps into the growing Web 3.0 movement, providing players with a unique experience where the game’s economy revolves around NFTs.

Because 2023 is old news. Should we critic the release of NFT games from a year ago?

Isn’t a game released less than a month ago a better indication on what a publisher is aiming for?

OK i will take the bait one last time:

What are these games with NFT from major publishers?

A simple question and the first sentence of your comment.

I couldn’t find anything for 2024 but please enlighten me.

I thought it was fairly obvious that it is irrelevant to mention NFT games from years ago. The issue here is that Ubisoft just released their NFT games.

You mentioned a diablo immortal thing and I don’t understand how this was relevant to this conversation about NFT.

I’m not moving the goalposts because there isn’t any. You talk about stuff that are not using NFT technology or are dated from 2023, a year where NFT was the trendy thing every major publishers indeed wanted to pursue.

But now Ubisoft is the only major publisher to develop a NFT game.

This FF NFT bullshit was released in early 2023.

Your original comment was about other major publishers releasing NFT games recently and you saying we were mean just to Ubisoft because

I checked anyway and couldn’t find any major publisher releasing that types of game in 2024. Only small NFT games from structures that are smaller than 100 people. Ubisoft has like 18k people working for them.

OK so you didn’t find any NFT game by a major publisher.

I don’t know if you really like Ubisoft and you are gaslighting me or you just randomize your comment and throw random facts.

Can you tell me what “major publisher” released an NFT game recently? As in the last 6 months or even a year?

Also the most expensive “card” for this NFT game is supposed to be 50000$. So that’s also the insane pricing and pay to win model associated with that game that makes it particularly egregious.

But I’m genuinely curious to see those other NFT games recently published.

Also the automated moderation on YT is also terrible.

Basically, Google never invested enough in their moderation systems. All we get is automated checks and appeals until one overworked uninterested Google employee will just refuse the final appeal.

And if that dev/creator has a community large enough they can appeal on X or some bullshit so that it’s reverted.

Don’t worry Ubisoft is also working hard to become a bargain to buy.

They are still on their obsession of NFT games that’s how disconnected they are from their playerbase.

To a large extent, the core personality of PC gaming is being niche.

What does that even mean?

What is a personality for PC gaming? I have never ever felt I was in a niche hobby or that PC gaming was even perceived as such and I have been playing for a long time.

This article is just bad I’m sorry.

A well intentioned but bad leader?

Thinking about Fallout 4 honestly there was major mistakes.

I usually don’t use lightly the word “scam” but in my opinion it was a scam at release. It was barely playable during the free WE I tried it. Even simple things like binding Keyboard keys wasn’t working properly. Flying an helicopter felt impossible despite hundreds of hours doing so in previous games. Full of bugs and far from any emblematic BF games. A terrible experience to the point I thought I had opened the wrong game on metacritic and just couldn’t believe we played the same game as these reviewers.

Now my hope is that DICE drops the license and some other studios tries to do something more authentic and polished. The recent Delta Force release despite its shortcomings makes me hopeful that other studios than EA/DICE has interest in this type of games.

But the critics said it was a great game at release. Remember that IGN?

It’s at this point that I understood some big reviewers are mostly bullshit.

Just realistic. The average PC player uses a lot steam and organize their gaming around that. My wishlist is also where I put games I want to follow and track their development. Sure they could have their own private forums or discord community but honestly they are missing out on visibility.

It is a fact at this point that steam wishlisting system helped tremendously some games to keep their inertia and hype going until release or early access.
