Sony isn’t stuck doing remasters, they’re choosing to do remasters

Has there ever been self-enforcement of standards that lead to less profit exploitation, or is it just the ones that let the industry virtue signal?

I love that mechanic. It forces the players movement to be more strategic while ramping up the tension. “I have to look away to get around this obstacle, can I do it quick? How close will it be when I look back?” Then you get stuck on something and it’s like “shitshitshit”

Wow, I knew a decent chunk of the game relied on RNG but I didn’t know it was that extensive.

I got pretty lucky by getting the Nebula gun in my first world. It makes getting through trash mobs a lot easier. Its good even up to boss enemies since I can squirt them and duck under cover while the acid kills them.

I’m on Root Earth which I assume is near endgame and I’ve only unlocked one other archetype and found like three new traits. I was starting to wonder what I was doing wrong but it seems being a pain in the ass is just how the game is designed. I haven’t even found new armor yet! (I know there are two sets you can buy in Ward 13)

Been playing Remnant 2 and its so bad I genuinely wish I never bought it. Archetypes locked behind world triggers that just don’t want to trigger, level design that is the same in each world, bosses that just spam the arena with summons and AOE attacks or have shitty gimmicks, enemies with shitty hitboxes, boringly repetitive enemy placement.

Some of those things were there from the start but were put in the “it’ll get better column” (it didn’t) and others weren’t apparent until later in the game.

I’m at the point where it’s shitty enemy swarm after shitty enemy swarm followed by shitty boss fights and I’m just done with it.

X4 is on sale as well, if you want something similar to Elite

They heavily hinted at 2025 release for switch2. You’d be nuts to buy a switch now.

Both Alice games are great. It’s too bad the third never got made.

Wow, the article completely ignored the story aspect of the game and only barely touched on the aesthetics. It basically says “yup, this is a game that runs on PC and console. I tested it. No issues.”

So the Xbox hardware is comparable to my phone hardware? Really makes the case for consoles.

He talks about playtime and that gamers are mostly playing games 6yrs and older but doesn’t even speculate on why that is. Could be technology, better gameplay, or some other factor. He’s just, “we have a small window we’re competing for” but doesn’t seem to want to understand why some new games get more playtime than others.

There’s no law saying that car companies can’t brick your cars software after ten years either. I bet if car companies did that there would be laws made damn quick.

If it’s about the long term health of the business, don’t buy studios you then “need to shut down” If that’s the real reason then the leadership at Xbox fucked up hard and needs to be let go. They have golden parachutes, they’ll be fine. Unlike the people at the studios they closed
