The real issue here is the game companies they are acquiring. Netflix should not be a player in gaming, full stop.

I am, however, relieved for John Oliver’s sake.


Personally speaking I don’t care at all about dev tools, as they have always been used. Vibe coding does bother me though - if you don’t know HOW to code, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.

The real issue though is using AI generated assets. If you have a game that uses human made art, story, and music, no one is going to complain about you using AI. Even if you somehow managed to get there via vibe coding.





People are specifically suggesting that this game be pirated due to rockstar being shitty to its employees. I would imagine the majority of people on Lemmy do buy their games, probably a lot more through steam than epic though.

Imagine, if you will, the possibility of NOT increasing prices 50% to give us the “additional value” of shit we don’t want.

I was happy paying for games, but suddenly I’m extremely willing to get back into piracy. Fucking weird, right?
