Ah, I got into the dailies immediately in both games, just part of playing for me.

For me it’s Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. It would be super easy to whale out and spend a bunch of money to get the characters and weapons I want, but I (almost 100%) limit myself to the basically fixed monthly costs.

I was going to go for “Ouya trying to fool with this post?”

It explicitly says the recordings stay on my device.
But yeah, if it didn’t say that, I’d guess the same.

Finally!

Got it here on my Pixel 7 Pro in the US, and specifically a 2-party state.

It initially said it was ‘pending’ downloading some audio files (I assume the announcement that it’s recording, which is all that’s needed legally) - and after I tapped the download button it seems ready to go.

I had bottom-bars appearing around 3/4 of the way down the screen on Firefox on my Android and never did find the actual cause (scoured about:config but no luck) but I solved it by clearing data and starting a new profile.

First I forced closed the app and backed up the file with my tabs using a file manager with root access:

/data/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla_components_session_storage_gecko.json

Then cleared the data, launched it and signed in and such, forced it closed again, copied back the tab session file, and launched it again.

When that one breaks there’s a good chance you can replace just the broken part.

And control the ‘embedded mode’ (forgot the real name, something like “Custom tabs”) for browsers - usually I want to open a page in the full separate browser so it’s independent of the app it came from.

I’ll have to try that vsync thing when I get a new PC (laptop). I’m playing stuff on my phone or Android tablet lately

Super Hexagon

It’s about as simple as a ‘modern’ game can be (I read there was even a port of it to Commodore 64.) but it’s a finely tuned machine. When you lose - and you will, a lot - it feels like mostly your own fault and not the game’s.

The difficulty levels very accurately start at Hard for the easiest one. There are 6 total levels, the next 5 difficulties are Harder, Hardest, Hardester, Hardestest, and Hardestestest.

With much time and luck I can beat the first level (unlocking the 4th). On a lost save I had unlocked the 5th level by completing the 2nd, and have only ever seen the 6th in videos from other people. I would have to beat the 3rd to see it myself, and that’s not happening.

The criteria to beat a level is “last for 60 seconds”.

And they aren’t (for now) changing the license of future work either - just not releasing source until the same time they release binaries, which is totally allowed in the open source licenses.

For some reason they don’t mention in the description that most or all of these games are not videogames, they are tabletop role playing game manuals. (The digital downloads are .pdf files)

Nothing wrong with that of course, but it certainly seems like an important detail.

Just One can also do a lot more than 4 players. If you add additional writing surfaces and erasable markers (or pencils or whatever) it’s pretty much unlimited.

Edit: It has enough for 7 players in the box (at least my copy does)

And even in those regions, at least some of the devices let you install the play store from the OEM’s store, so I’m sure most users do that if they can.

Genshin Impact just released a new version that for most of the world became playable on Jan 1, but where I live it started several hours before the end of Dec 31.

So that.

It’s simply a ‘known issue’ which OP unfortunately discovered first-hand, that Verizon specific models have a modified OS that cannot ever be bootloader unlocked (without exploits) - regardless of SIM lock. It really is their corporate policy. And why I buy my devices directly from the OEM even though I could in theory get a discount from Verizon (happens to be my carrier… For now.)

Some apps show as incompatible with my tablet (Lenovo Y700 Gen 2) even though they work fine. I can often share those from my phone directly in the Play Store.

The article says I could use Files going forward, but it doesn’t work - Quick Share is missing entirely on the tablet and I haven’t found a way to enable/install it

From what I read, the policy of removing domains when the county stops existing was directly based on what happened with .su so that never happens again.

Yeah, I didn’t get a good wording there. I just mean is it still up in the air?

That reminds me… Is the entire .io domain still planning to end or did that get resolved?

Oh! Good find. Looks like the way to do this is by implementing ACTION_GET_CONTENT. I can’t help you beyond that (I don’t have a dev environment set up and am a novice anyway)

I actually took a quick look at the Android API to see if there was an obvious way to make an app to do this, and as far as I could find, there is not. It might be impossible.

Perhaps you can paste it into an image editor app and then save it as a file?

Pretty sure the media picker can only pick files on Android.

Also if the image was on screen at some point before it was on the clipboard, you could take a screenshot as a rough workaround. Those are also saved as files.

My immediate reaction before opening the link: “No.”

Yet I somehow got 96.6% twice.

Visually, I certainly wouldn’t call them 3.4% away from perfect. I’m guessing there’s some allowance for imperfection even at 100%.

I think that would only be likely to work on the original image with full metadata. Once imgur or whatever has processed it that would be gone I assume.

If you don’t mind gacha games, I’ve been enjoying Honkai: Star Rail. The battles are turn based, some of the puzzles and events are a bit reaction time dependent, but not difficult generally.

Only if you don’t trust what’s using it, but both it and the app I linked are open source, so I personally consider the risk to be minimal.

It also has a permission system, you have to allow each app that uses it. (Just like root managers such as Magisk)

Better Internet Tiles
F-Droid
Play store

Requires either Shizuku or root, but works well enough that I forgot it wasn’t the default until you reminded me.

I have the Atari 2600 Halo cartridge, but I haven’t actually tried to play it yet.

I don’t know anything about it either, but somehow culturally osmosed that word.

I didn’t beat your time, but how many guesses?

🔶💚🔴🟦 4 guesses in 1m 9s (So 0 incorrect)

I got ‘lucky’ and guessed the 4th word first (after misspelling it a bunch and looking up the correct way) which cleared letters to find word 2, then eventually 3, then 1 was easy. I can easily see it taking over an hour if I hadn’t guessed that longest one first.

This was my second time playing this.

Those comments in the tracker section are good, just a one line summary kind of thing for all of them would be a nice improvement.
I’m not asking for full F-Droid information (but if you want to include it, maybe put it in a tap-to-show sliding thing (sorry, I don’t do web dev) )

Feature request: Describe each app. At least what it does (beyond just the category)

Nanotubes are still a thing, but most of the hype now seems to be around ‘buckysheets’ (graphene)
