Playing Disco Elysium for the first time and it’s really good. Reminds me a lot of Planescape: Torment. Really a breath of fresh air after Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 had fun gameplay, but my god did the writing suck. There were a few good bits, but overall it was garbage. The 4-options-only dialogue system blew anyway, but the options were always “Yes”, “No”, “Meh/Sarcastic Yes”, and “Tell me more!” It was terrible.
At least in Skyrim you were a nobody that everyone wanted a piece of, you lack of internal motivation was understandable. The conflicts were between the groups were rooted in a history you woke up in the middle of. There were literally chaos gods (daedra) fucking shit up. For the love of god Bethesda, please just make the next Fallout game an actual RPG.
Oh, and I also need to circle back around to Dave the Diver now that the Godzilla DLC is out.
I bought Continue?9876543210 because I thought it sounded interesting and had about $10 to burn.
I thought it was hauntingly beautiful, and I got hung up following Jason Oda after that. I think he’s got great instincts for video game design, even if his last game Waking still needs polish (but is also gorgeous). I’m actually afraid he’s thrown in the towel, having tried to bite off more than he could chew, but I hope to keep seeing new works from him anyway. Solo indie game development is a kind of hell I assume.
2 points: First, considering that the majority of Israelis support what’s happening in Gaza, I’d seek affirmative evidence that they are in the minority opposition. More importantly, unfortunately, is the fact that to the degree that they are successful and make money, their taxes and economic contributions will benefit a government and system that is actively engaging in a genocide of Palestinians, and in the best of time merely oppresses them.
It sucks to have to catch people for are individually decent in a larger boycott, if that is even the case here, but I don’t really see how to disentangle them from the larger Israeli system which, if it continues unchecked, will kill or push out every Palestinian in the West Bank and Gaza.
