My wife and I was laughing at that a while back. He’s great.

There’s a ton on the wholesome game bundle that are interesting.

Interesting video on game consoles last month ago-ish.

Meh most work on emulation. The only thing going legal would do is ease of use (maybe) and more $$ for nintendo.

Excellent! That’s my one gripe with MMP. I want to play stardew/balatro on a small handheld darn it!

Nice! Glad to see you are enjoying the device.

We regularly joke that Anbernic comes out with new devices every couple of months in every way shape and form factor. Not exactly a bad problem, but they often have issues with quality control. But if you get a refund and new device it usually works out.

Nice we have been talking about the device in the retro gaming corps discord channel. Looks like a lot of fun. If my miyoo mini plus ever dies this will probably be my next handheld.

Sorry for your loss.

Yep interesting times!

It always makes me think of: https://collapseos.org/why.html

I dont personally think we are anywhere close to the collapse the author states, but its a step. If you cant get replacement parts (or they just get too expensive for the average joe) you have to make due with what you got.

Man RAM/DH is going through the roof. Going to be a fun time with all the tarrifs too in the US.

Lets see how far it goes if AI starts failing…or even if another company can produce faster than they can.

Fifo’s Night is a new 3D platformer developed by students at Lightbox Academy. It’s a family-friendly, Halloween-themed game, and it’s free! I played a preview build earlier this year and came away...

Yeah I had one too. Ultimate reminder to never pre-order.

Fantastic game. I’ve been playing. Its fun.

Its so easy to develop for the steam deck and steam devices. Just FYI it really is just another machine. Theres no “unlocking” or “side loading” or anything. Its just a computer. Thats it!

Excellent video. Lots of YT videos are popping out with similar info but I like the breakdown here.

Love it!

  • I personally don’t care for the controller, but I will say that if I didnt have a steam deck with the track pads already, I would probably get one.
  • The Steam frame looks interesting. Ill keep an eye out. It might be cheaper than a huge big screen. But IDK. VR always feels like a gimmick.
  • The Steam machine looks awesome. Ill probably get one. I like PCs that happen to be consoles cause I can rip them apart and upgrade/fix as I please.

I really hope Steam OS comes out for more than just 2 devices though. That would be AWESOME.
Big picture mode is great but certain games + controller + hardware combos still have issues with it. Whereas the steam deck has a fantastic time hooking into things.

I’ve had good luck with generic Logitech and ps4 controllers, at least on steam + Linux.

I remember the game grumps did a walkthrough of some sonic game and they were going through some guys 10+ year old walkthrough that was really well done. It was hilarious some of the comments the walkthrough person wrote.

I just ordered the Fairphone online and it showed up. Nothing crazy. Sorry still a bit confused.

I’m confused. You can already buy fairphones in the us. I’m using one now.

This is my solar powered setup. A somewhat old Pixel 6a that fell from a foot and a half (really!?), a 10w Solar setup that was around 20$ on amazon. And an old compost container I have too many of. Ill be giving it a proper 3d printed case when I get a chance (and a host of other changes) but for now this works! Its worth about 40$ in total (the phone is now worth about 21$ on the open market). ![Qm4kpb3x0dQ7Qib.jpg](https://media.piefed.social/posts/Qm/4k/Qm4kpb3x0dQ7Qib.jpg) ![hRMBBvZMfVgbgIs.jpg](https://media.piefed.social/posts/hR/MB/hRMBBvZMfVgbgIs.jpg) Website: https://solar.chrisco.me/ Website was made with a collection of scripts, apache2 (nginx for some reason did not install, errors), and termux. Ill open source the whole setup in a bit. Theres not much to it to be honest. Hopefully keeping the battery at 80% will help the lifetime of the battery. I may bump it up at some point if it keeps dieing because lack of sunlight. But we shall see. More info in the link. I couldn't get Piefed to repost from a GotoSocial link.

Its a fantastic game! Got really close to beating it but dropped off. Music was good, the actual monsters very fun. Some of the better pixel art and the controls were tight.

Some of the bosses are VERY hard, to the point I had to look up guides. Its worth the $$. Honestly I wish they had an easy mode or something to get us though the hardest parts.

Im glad you are enjoying it!

We shall see here in a bit.

App for limiting battery to certain percentage?
I have a Pixel 6a and I would like to limit the phone to about 80% instead of going to 100 for...explody reasons. At no point do I want it to go above 80%. Is that possible with an app? Most that I saw on Fdriod only give you a notification. I want it to be automatic.

Imagine buying a new console that you can play games you got over a decade ago. And then play on your PC same save files. Then move to your portable device and play your game there too. Crazy.

Sorry for the all caps, but its the video title.
fedilink

Love the vibes on that one. But I couldn’t beat it.

I can play my steam games I bought over a decade ago on any hardware. Its awesome. I just got hadies 2 as well and it works flawlessly on the SD.

And that’s just steam. I just don’t see buying an Xbox/PSehatever/switch5000. Most games come out for everything now. Who cares?

Nice! Glad I’m not the only one.

My wife played through nexomon! She liked it but the visual style wasn’t my thing. But it did look fun.

Coromon is a pretty good indie if you liked the old GBA games. Temtem is one I had fun with in the 3d space.

They are going through their stock as the tarrifs keep hitting. Chips are gettingbsuoer expensive in the us.

Saw this on some other sites. I was wondering why I didnt see too much development by 3rd parties for switch 2 specifically. There are messages online to use Switch 1 ATM because the dev kits are not available.

In Brief: - DRM-free games marketplace ZOOM Platform has issued a statement claiming payment processors have expressed concern about its content - A ZOOM Platform employee told GamingOnLinux that a broader range of games, such as the Duke Nukem series, are “at risk” of being removed - A spokesperson told This Week in Videogames that discussions with payment processors had flagged the series, as well as GTA and Saints Row, as potential targets.

Kinda music and games. Thought this community might like it. The group moonbowmusicmovie has done some fantastic covers over the years.

I've been stuck at this boss all day, it kinda sucks. There's quite a few undefendable moves. You can't even block when it goes to its third form and takes about 1/2 health with its attack. With a character they pulled out of their butts. And to top it off, I ended up with zero hp here and the game is still running. This is an extremely frustrating and buggy experience. Going to take a break for a while, might even stop playing. Somehow the game is continuing past 0hp. https://piped.chrisco.me/w/8pxMpZpXnw5QmU52catuJR

So apparently my phone may explode soon. (6a) What is a good replacement phone?
Bonus if its less than 300 and has a replaceable battery. Preferably one that doesn't explode.

I can personally vouch for the two skator gator games. They were really fun to me.
