Perfect example. So many half life mods alone spawned stand alone games. Not to mention others created elsewhere.

Not that I approve of this type of content, but corporations should not be selectively enforcing their morals.
Xbox controllers work with windows with pretty much zero configuration. Either use USB or the appropriate receiver dongle. This probably contributes a lot to it’s popularity.
Also the older and newer style controllers likely all just report as Xbox controllers and the wired 360 controllers are dirt cheap
