From what I saw, the game died because:

  • tutorial was way too long and there was no easy way to find objectives
  • hostile locations were mostly barren
  • enemies were super easy to cheese

All things the devs could have gone back and fixed, but they decided to abandon the game.

Micros rake in the cash because they exploit the stupidity of “whales” (people with more money than sense).

Bethesda games are always boring trash. The real game won’t even appear for another year or two at least (after the modders have finished fixing all the bugs, the horrible writing, the design flaws).

Dragon Age: Origins is an example of a really good story-driven game. Any time I play it, I usually quit shortly after the Landsmeet. I feel like the whole Archdemon part of the story is really just a neat MacGuffin, so actually mobilizing and fighting it is really just a huge letdown.

This poll says more about who uses Lemmy than what gaming platform people in general use.

I think most people realize that this means the game is going to end up being like Fallout NV, where you have a slideshow ending showing you how your choices affected the roleplaying environment, and that there are a lot of slides you’ll end up sitting through. The number seems to imply that you have a lot potential variety of impact.

The appeal will attempt to win a preliminary injunction blocking the Activision Blizzard merger with Xbox ahead of a scheduled trial in August. The deal is currently scheduled to be completed on July 18.

If the deal is not completed by that date, Xbox will be forced to pay $3 billion to Activision Blizzzard and the merger will potentially be opened to renegotiation.

It should be interesting to see how far they let Monopolysoft go in this situation.
