Game in one window, other things open in other windows. Game and do other things at the same time.

Or getting kicked out of the game while flying a copter over the Deep Desert, and logging back in to find myself in quicksand and the copter stuck inside a cliff. Great times!

Yeah, to me the Steam forums seem like one of the least toxic “gamer” spaces online.

I didn’t mind the game being difficult, but there were so many bugs and unexplained mechanics that could wipe out large amounts of progress unexpectedly. It was disappointing.

Your base and vehicles disintegrate slowly with exposure to the elements. I never saw any gacha mechanics, though.

Cat Lady has a dark story, but not in a way that made me feel powerless or depressed. To me, it’s the story of a person who has almost given up, finding genuine friendship and developing the strength to face and deal with her past traumas. I found the ending powerful in a life-affirming way. It is intense, though. And affected by your own choices. Maybe something for a better time.

Cat Lady, if you like adventure games, or Oxenfree?

I loved Oxenfree. One of my all time favorites.

I think The Genesis Order looked good to me, too. I did not realize that Lust Epidemic was related, though. I wouldn’t have though it even had a similar vibe.

Maybe a benefit of this style would be they could just deflate them during hurricanes.

I’m playing Morimens. It’s a gacha, but I love the dark, supernatural theme and atmosphere. The music is great, too.

I’ve been wanting to play that game for so long! It looks so good, outside the porn aspect.

It’s seemed pretty popular to me since basically the beginning of the internet.

My bf has already decided he wants one of these because of the xbox branding. :(

IMO, I would rate them: ME1 Andromeda ME2 ME3

The original Mass Effect was great, a classic, but 2 and 3 had less and less of what I’d loved about the first game. By the time I got to 3, I was playing because I felt invested in the story and characters, not because I found the gameplay enjoyable. Andromeda wasn’t quite as enjoyable as ME1 to me, mostly because I didn’t connect with the characters as much, but the story was surprising and original, fights were exciting, and the gameplay had a lot of interesting new elements that made the scenario feel immersive. It’s really too bad that so many people didn’t like it.

The beginning of the game is really bleak, but it makes the scenario of trying to colonize a lifeless planet feel all the more real IMO. After you meet aliens and start terraforming planets, it starts to be more what people wanted out of it, I think.

I’m on day 20 or so. Myst was the game I would compare it to, also.

Screenshotting the clues you find definitely helps piece it all together.

I’m working on the letter puzzle related to the pictures right now. Definitely couldn’t remember that without writing it down.

Oh god, what sigils? I don’t think I’ve even gotten to that yet. I’ve opened up the side yard and the mine, and got 3 of the 4 torches lit. There are so many puzzles! I think it’s better to know nothing, though, and discover it along the way.

I’ve been playing Blue Prince. It’s fun.

There was also an issue with a dev wanting to use donation money to buy a gaming laptop. That rubbed some people the wrong way.

There always seems to be some sort of controversy going on about the devs’ behavior from an ethical perspective.

The first game didn’t have much in the way of story. The focus was on the puzzles and adventuring. I don’t think that makes her less of a woman character. In a video game, the assets are the only difference, anyway. Not that women can’t be rough and adventurous and physical and like guns.

I feel like I get a pretty good idea of what a game is like from reviews and discussions.

The only way I know anything about the games I buy is by reading the store page. If I have to go looking for the dev’s website, it’s because something has gone wrong.
