2 remake is one of my favourite games of all time. 4 remake looks great too but never played. Not too interested in 7 and 8 but I’ll try them if the time is there

I don’t mind size so long as there’s meaningful activity.

For example, Just Cause 2 is huge with a massive variety of biomes but I enjoy hijacking military jets and blowing shit up on repeat and general traversal.

Infamous 2 and Second Son have very neat and small maps that are action packed and fun to traverse.

But then other open world games just bore me.

WHY A FIGHTING GAME!!!

they could make a game about pro-bending!!! and other actvities/sports in the avatar universe

seriously a 3v3 pro-bending game would be awesome

It was good value in the short term…but anyone capable of forecasting longer than 36 months knew instantly it was an awful deal, even compared to someone who had Playstation Plus and its free games + discounted games since the Sony hack in 2011 and doubly so compared to someone who bought Humble Bundle instead.

In Uncharted 4 there’s an achievement called “Ludonarrative Dissonance” which is awarded after killing a number of enemies lol.

Ocarina of Time Master Quest on PSVita Death Stranding 1 on PC Valorant BF6 beta but admittedly I don’t like the game anymore sadly :(

Oh man, you’re in for a treat! it’s one of my favourites for sure

Not the same but is certainly valid as a way to enjoy the game.

I watch loads of Mario Maker 2 stuff but have never touched the game since I don’t have a Switch

Yeah, honestly, what was wrong with games releasing Demos?

I think a lot of games would do well if they also bundled limited demos of other games with them too like back in the old days.

Until it gets a robust single player I’m not bothering with it, which is unfortunate

Haha that’s the kind of thing I love!! the developers that stopped water being a limitation and turned it into some kind of feature

For example, in the infamous games, you’re an electric man so waist high water kills you, and shallower water conducts your electricity. If an enemy also stands in that water, it’s an instant kill on them

Made up instantly for the fact you couldn’t swim lol.

Watched a guy playing it on a Steam Deck on the train: caught my interest. Would play if I had a Steam Deck. Might see if I can play it on an RP5 running Linux

First/notable 3D games where you could dive below water (and walk on land)
Given the hate Mindseye is getting for omitting water interactions entirely, what are some 3D games that have solid or interesting water/land player-character interactions? Obviously every GTA after San-Andreas, and every Zelda since OoT but are there many others?

I know but I don’t want to use my phone as a gaming device. The retroid pocket 5 could be the one for me

Yeah, I’m taking a look at the RP5 it looks quite good. I wish its GameCube Performance was better but this might be the one for me :D

If it can also play Steam games/x86 games, that would also be cracked

Curious! Might pick one up, see what I can make for it :D

EDIT: On review, I already have a PS Vita that does all of these fairly effortlessly and in a smaller frame with more games.

Really looking forward to the day we can do PS2/GameCube in a PS Vita form factor

If anything, it makes me wonder why we don’t have more small dedicated handheld gaming devices that aren’t phones or pseudocomputers and don’t cost a bomb.

Like a £220 PSP/GBA/DS-like device with decent first-party support would be really nice for me imo

Chrono Trigger had me looking up guides as several points just to find a way to progress.

Currently working through the Talos Principle. Really fun + there’s a really cool shader to render ripples on water.

As someone who used the learning edition of endorphin to make wrestling videos, I would’ve loved to use Euphoria. Alas, I was merely 13 when they shut down Endorphin

no offline singleplayer, no fun for me

I would like to switch to Linux on my gaming machine but me and my girlfriend play Valorant together so I can’t switch just yet.

My server and laptop already run NixOS, I’m just looking forward to the day my gaming/main machine join them too

looks beautiful! shame I’m broke now or I’d get it

I think tying unlocks to sanitised challenges was what made 3 unenjoyable for me

In 2 I would just play the game and naturally unlock stuff, whereas in 3, the unlock to another rocket c4 was tied to destroying some random military base in a time limit that didn’t even shoot back.

I wish we could go down to PS Vita size but I understand that mobile fills that sector for now :(

A small dedicated gaming device with hardware buttons is all I want though

Amen, B3P perfected the formula, I wish I could mod it and bring it to PC and add more cars and tracks

Splitgate really fumbled pivoting to a loadout based shooter instead of the arena style from the first game

Burnout, but takedown style, NOT paradise/open world

It’s insane I can’t just have a game where I can do ridiculous crashes and uses cars as bullets.

this looks like the saints row game I wanted

Yes they should, cynical fouls are simply part of the game and often elegant when they’re not dangerous. The player is making a trade-off and can’t commit such fouls when already cautioned. The big problem is that some players from certain teams can get away with making 4 fouls before even being shown a card.

The blue card doesn’t solve the issue of the fact that referees hardly enforce the rules consistently enough anyway.

Going down to 10 men in football for any period of time is insanely expensive, and we need less referee ambiguity determining the fate of games instead of more.

Yellow cards are already quite taxing in themselves over a season or tournament due to how accumulating cards result in suspensions.
