“We will drive innovation that is meaningful, not incremental.”

What ya’ shoulda been doing the whole time.

> Microsoft also points out that the license related only to the source code, and "does not include commercial packaging or marketing materials". > > It's a welcome move. However, Microsoft's announcement about making Zork open-source sure has the whiff of AI-generated writing about it. The article is riddled with saccharine, dreamy phrasing and AI-favoured sentence structures. "When Zork arrived, it didn't just ask players to win; it asked them to imagine" is a classic bit of AI-generated hokum, and similar phrases occur multiple times through the text.

The article is hardly attacking Valve. Just acknowledging how they got here with a bit of good nature ribbing. Nothing wrong with being able to laugh at ourselves.

To be fair, Nintendo’s systems are usually underpowered compared to the competition. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, but still.

This is going down as yet another game that’s stuck in development hell.

EA: Maxis will continue to have creative freedom.

Also, EA: We’ve put all of Maxis’ resources into The Sims 4.

I have a hunch this goes one step higher than the private banks.

While I agree, a lot of these banning campaigns do try to link LGBTQ+ as NSFW to justify their actions.

I believe this was the tie-in point and click game for the 2015 movie since the publish date is the same.

I think I know what this is about. Terror in Little Creek is coming out later that same month. They want you to forget the 2015 game.

Of course it would be the bible thumpers. Gotta stick their nose into everyone’s business.

> After being in development for over 10 years, Hytale, a sandbox game from the Hypixel Studios team with support from Riot, has officially been cancelled. Hypixel Studios' CEO, Noxy, announced the cancellation on X on June 23, with the official Hytale forums following suit.

It’s like being handed a MP3 player but being told you’ll go to jail for playing music you ripped yourself.

Game cards seem like a tone-deaf attempt to appeal to those who just want a physical copy.

Most of the third-party titles are yesterday’s games, as already mentioned, and the newer ones are still in development. Meaning, Nintendo’s games are pretty much doing all the heavy lifting. And given the price versus buying power ratio for some games, the launch comes off as a bit mid, to say the least.

Hopefully things will improve in the future.

Same. I tried looking through it and was extremely confused by what I was reading.

They say ownership has changed hands but that it isn’t a corporate “exit”. The whole announcement is extremely vague on the details with the only names given are two people.

And I literately just started using them for Daggerfall. Really frustrating.

Yes. I feel sorry for the developers. This requirement by Microsoft is ridiculous.

Uh, huh… Glad we agree. Though, I’m still gonna take this statement with a grain salt now.

If Microsoft continues to make exceptions, then they might as well not even have the stupid rule.

Small, yes, but it’s not like I’m not expecting it. As someone who did not write the article, I have no idea what I should replace it with that would sound better and meet everyone’s expectations.

This is not the first time I’ve been asked about headlines. So, yeah, it can get midly frustrating.

Note to self: don’t post Xbox articles next time.

I didn’t need to be reminded about it three freakin’ times.

My inbox was filled with three people complaining about the title.

And this is what makes it convoluted.

However, every game on Xbox Series X also has to work on Series S, meaning every game is sort of chained to the limitations of that console to a degree. With that said, some developers have voiced frustrations with developing for the Xbox Series S and it was even reportedly an issue when bringing Black Myth: Wukong to Xbox.

Oh, FFS. I can’t pretend to know what will or won’t piss you guys off.

It’s really convoluted and, in this case, not really the fault the developers. Microsoft presents everyone with a high-end console, the Series X, but studios like CD Projekt Red can’t make use of its full potential because they’re forced to target the lower-end Series S first.

> Another PlayStation presentation has gone by without mention of Marvel's Wolverine, and so many fans and those around the industry were beginning to question the fate of the mutant.
