Note that if you want to play the VR mod it only works with the original Crysis, which is also on GOG.

Yes, that’s the sensible aspect I was referring to. But I doubt the heads of these companies are going to show that level of restraint given all available evidence.

You’re assuming AI will be used in a sensible way for the aspects it is good at, and not by forcing developers to use it for code generation uncritically with the hope they can eventually dump most of their workforce.

WiVRn is for VR, and I doubt it has any support for non-VR applications. It’s FOSS of course so maybe it could be adapter for that use case, but it’s probably better to integrate it into the likes of Sunshine/Moonlight.

The algorithm and code were only released a couple of months ago so it’s very early days.

I designed my own ridiculously fast game streaming video codec – PyroWave – Maister’s Graphics Adventures
As a side note, there's work on WiVRn using this which is one of the main VR streaming options on Linux: https://github.com/WiVRn/WiVRn/tree/proto/pyrowave

This is a third party WMR driver for Windows that replaces the now removed official WMR driver. Nvidia GPUs only for now, unfortunately. This is just the store page, it's not actually released yet. Linux users have the Monado stack as an alternative, although it's still fairly buggy and missing some features. Works well on AMD GPUs, as you'd expect.

On Steam, Japanese language has grown from 0.85% in July 2015, to 2.56% in July 2025.

Is that Steam users that have set Japanese as their main language or the proportion of games that include Japanese language support?

They might mean exclusives, of which none of those apply. But I personally don’t think exclusives are a good thing anyway.

Seems like Horizon has an iffy future as well. Ah well, they are mostly pretty similar and getting repetitive.

These are quirky in terms of plot but not so much in terms of gameplay (at least your modern examples). That’s fine to a point but I’d like to see a bit more variety.

Annual prices are slightly cheaper, but they’ve been gradually squeezing that too. You can of course pause the months you don’t want, but it’s a somewhat obtuse process.
