the setting is an important part of the narrative too. the tasteless commodification of sex is absolutely relevant to the overall story the game is telling.

we are in a golden age of medium good action games. lies of p, stellar blade, khazan the first berserker, another crab’s treasure come to mind for me.

non-fromsoft soulslikes are starting to find their voice. they’re not quite great yet, but they’re competent now.

memorize monster movements in order to anticipate next potential movement… I hate it.

this is literally the cornerstone of monster hunter combat

the counterpoint to me not liking a song from a Video Game because it of its association with Internet Culture has to be something other than “get out more”

my hot take is that even though portal is a masterpiece this song is so cringe because i associate it with unfunny “the narwhal bacons at midnight” type redditors

i love its anticapitalist take on ocean pollution. unironically smart stuff

the game is a moba, the pve sections are there to facilitate pvp play, like farming and map control.

id be pretty down for a coop pve shooter in the style of the old hero sieges from wc3 though: fighting off waves and waves of creeps until you get strong enough to push into their base while defending key objectives.

the soundtrack is undefeated. i put it on when i need to focus or when i want to act like i listen to jazz

is there a city sim that prioritizes green cities and quality of life? the first cities skylines was shockingly america-centric with the city designs it let you build, even with the european devs.

agreed, making video games has gotta be the worst ROI software job in the world. bad hours, bad pay, bad management. anyone who wanted to be lazy could do so anywhere else but video games.

i think the characters and story are a definite high spot. the game is saying something about pollution and capitalism and how the two enable each other. it’s a little hammy but i really respect the devs for going for it.

but… the game feels really janky to play. it doesn’t have the tightness of the fromsoft souls games. it feels like a souls game was shoehorned into the default unity physics with no finesse.

this is a smartass answer but if no video game is catching your attention, don’t play a video game. do anything else. pick up a new hobby or revisit an old one.

nobody’s stopping you from enjoying funko, just making fun of you for enjoying something dumb
