Absolutely! I honestly haven’t encountered any form of bigotry or racism there.

The first few I came into had weekly attendance requirements, and you’d hit up after a week or so of inactivity which was super stressful considering I wasn’t attending due to work and life stress. This new community I’m a member of definitely understands that. We have parents, working professionals, retires, all sorts of people from all walks of life.

We definitely have some UK and European folks, we’d love some more!

Look forward to it! We’ll be there

I’ve left many toxic communities in the past, and over the past 6+ years it’s been a positive outlet for me. I left all forms of social media a while ago, so it’s nice to have a pressure free outlet with people who understand having little free time but still an interest in gaming. Currently I have lots of free time since I’m between gigs, and I know I’ll sadly have to go back to being less active. Other groups in the past I even got booted from because of similar inactivity. It’s just nice to have somewhere to be. Hope you enjoy it!

We definitely have a mix and our weekly shenanigans organizer is female. As with most gaming communities, it’s probably more men than women overall, but there’s even a ladies-only channel and even a ladies night I believe. Hope you give it a shot!

Look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks so much! Hoping we can get some more great new members!

I’ve tried many communities before this that were either toxic, pressured you for lack of attendance or were just pretty much dead. I’ve had the opportunity to be a member for over 6 years and it’s been amazing. Hope you find it to be the same!

It’s a great place. The sim racing league that I’m a part of is even run by a super knowledgeable guy who even uses his own time to coach other sim enthusiasts. One member started in this sim league and now races in real life even. Look forward to seeing you there!

Awesome! It’s really great, I think you’ll enjoy it.

We have a channel for that! Plus Tabletop Simulator is popular amongst the group

Not entirely. It started in the US but we’ve been fortunate enough to have members join from all around the world!

A chill gaming community for the 30+ crowd
Looking for people your own age to game with? [Over 30 Clan](http://over30clan.com/) has been around since 2010 and has grown to over 1,500 members, and for the last 6+ years it’s been my home base. Any given night you’ll find folks jumping into everything from Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders to Overwatch 2 and more. It’s an active, friendly, pressure-free group with weekly events, game nights, and even a dedicated sim racing crew that’s just wrapping up another iRacing season. If that sounds like your vibe, you can apply through their [website](http://over30clan.com/) and hop in. I’m just one of many members there, but it honestly took ages to find a community this active and drama‑free. It’s become a real bright spot in my life, and I hope you’ll get as much out of it as I do. Huge shoutout to the mods here for letting me share this. Had a great response when posting in patientgamers, and hoping some of you will find your new gaming home outside of Lemmy here too. Have a good one!

I think you’ll like it. My activity over the last 5 years has mainly been conversations in channel. I’m only just recently jumping on voice chat for some co-op stuff. Have a good one!

There’s a ton of people that focus on single player, RPGs included. The community has channels dedicated to all types on Genres and games. I’d give it a shot, there’s no pressure and you might find some nice people on there. Take care

Look forward to seeing you there. Lots of parents in the community as well. There’s even a channel dedicated to parents

I’m in the same boat. When I’m working I don’t have much time, but the community doesn’t put pressure on anyone. Hope to see you there

There’s tons of channels dedicated to various types of games, platforms and topics for discussions. Currently I haven’t seen anyone focusing on either of those in channel or voice chat, but it tends to be a constantly evolving range of games the group tends to focus on. There’s no shortage of people focusing on single player games and discussing them in channel and even on voice chat.

Thanks! There’s tons of channels with discussions happening even when no one’s on voice chat. I often just appear on those when my work schedule doesn’t allow much gaming. I know we have some members in the UK and elsewhere. Take care

It’s a lot of fun with an entire group in Voice Chat. I normally shy away from PVP but so far this has felt great. It’s a nice mix of mainly PVE with occasional bursts of PVP

I’m just a member but I’m sure the moderators would be open to hearing about the idea.

They’ve been around since 2010, so it ended up being structured entirely astound discord. Other than this community, I really don’t have much use for discord.

I hear ya. It’s all I use discord for. The community has been around since 2010 so it got built all around discord.

I’m just starting to get into Arc Raiders as well, lots of fun so far

There’s lot of people that play SP games and just chat about them on channels and even voice. Lots of MP though for sure

Unfortunately I’m just a member but it could definitely be suggested

Primarily yes, but there are some folks from all around the globe.

You don’t need to take part in any of it. There’s no expectations or attendance requirements

I understand. It’s an unfortunate requirement since the community was built entirely around discord. It’s really the only thing I use discord for.

It’s worth checking out. I’m fortunate to have some months off work and it’s great to have an older community to game with. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Unfortunately the community is entirely based around discord. They do a bit of screening to avoid people with lots of Steam bans, people under 30, or anyone who looks like they’d be toxic to the community. All applications are voted on by the community. It’s also a 501c non profit organization. I honestly haven’t had one negative experience with the community. I left all traditional forms of social media other than Lemmy and this discord community. Both have been fairly positive outlets in my life that I hope continue to grow and thrive.

A community dedicated to 30+ gamers.
I’ve been a member of a discord community for over 6 years now. On any given night you’ll find people playing anything from Battlefield 6, Arc Raiders, Overwatch 2, etc. It’s a very active community with weekly events and we even have a sim racing group finishing up another season in iRacing. If it sounds interesting, they have a website for applications [Over 30 Clan](http://over30clan.com/) Apologies if this is considered soliciting. I don’t get many opportunities to mention it and it’s honestly a great community. It took me a long time to find one of this quality.

That would be the successor to Steam Deck, there’s rumors that Valve is working on a standalone console.

This next Steam console will be interesting. With all the success they’ve had from the Steam Deck it might stand a chance this time around.
