I’m presently full up on games and hobbies on the side but I’ll wishlist it.

The $70 is the introductory price, like the first dose of a drug that you get for cheaper to get you hooked. The actual price has been tabulated by a department with psychologist support to ensure it’s into the four digit range.

Just saw it and man a single dev is making this? Like, seriously, it looks good. Though I’m not a perma-death fan so it is out of my wheelhouse. Still, that’s exceptional and wish them the best of luck!

Good, nearly all AAA games provide is pretty graphics and little to no substance. Those that do are the very rare exclusions. Like CyberPunk2077, its story was good, graphics if you could run them good, but the gameplay was hollow until a lot of reworking.

Look up the Emperor and his origins which also leads you into what the Immaterium/Warp is as well as the Astrnomicom.

From there you’ll go to the Horus Heresy to understand why things are messed up with some light reading on the various theologies that dominated the Imperium. As well this also leads into understanding what Chaos is, especially to the Imperium.

The Imperium isn’t just fascist, it’s fascist to the extreme with unending bureaucracy. Entire planets get misplaced in the archive as rounding errors. You’ll learn about Space Marines, the Imperial Guard from here.

Then look up the main Xenos factions. I recommend Orks, Eldar, and Tau as those are the current major players/antagonists to the Imperium. There’s more but those usually get more screen time so to speak.

I despise all loot boxes and they should be going after EA and Activision/Blizzard if they want really scuzzy, exploitive ones.

You can start by selling in Steam items from other loot boxes to buy more loot boxes. As well purchase steam gift cards to put money in your account.

There are examples that I can excuse. I’m more of looking at the likes of Destiny 2 or World of Warcraft.

The $60/$70 price tag on video games from major makers is an entry fee, it doesn’t get you the full game anymore. You have to pay for luxury editions, expansions, microtransactions of some sort, battle pass. It’s cheaper to start a tabletop miniature army than play video games now.

Deep Rock Galactic can be played up to 4 players, but 2 is fine. There’s difficulty scaling to what you want to do and you have to want to play high difficulty content to access it. You go around various biomes, mining for resources, fending off enemies. There’s a multitude of mission types to play that can be fun to funny.

It was officially released in 2020 but was in early access for longer than that. It’ll run well on mid range PC builds and supports Linux though with the typical warning it might be a little janky until you get the right modifications going. The DLC in the game is cosmetics and you have plenty you can earn through regular gameplay.

A racing style game that you two can play around in I believe is called Wreck Fest. It’s a demolition styled racing game so crashing, smashing, and bashing are all encouraged. It has from straight racing to demolition derbies with AI.

It released in 2018 and should work fine on a mid-range PC, though might need to turn down some of the physics effects since there’s a lot. Its DLC is different cars which isn’t really pay to win as they have strengths and weaknesses to them. I’ve played it on single player and it’s still fun, with a friend would be wonderful.

If you’d like a rogue lite kind of game, there’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splintered Fate. It’s a coop rogue lite where you build up power sets and see how they do. Can be up to 4 players but solo is very much viable as well.

Its world building and such is visual story telling.

You’re talking to me like I haven’t been through decades of disappointment and in other areas. Me cutting things off is the last straw and thing I can readily do. Be it someone who says “welfare queens should die” to AI used for media. I know you cannot rightfully get away from supporting Amazon or that you have a choice of a soulless, big box store to buy at anymore. Just because I have to do so to maintain my ability to live doesn’t mean I won’t try to inform others about it and get them on my side. I’m just less patient with supreme levels of bullshit anymore.

I don’t think the typical person knows how destructive AI is to many things much less effects on local communities where they put data centers.

We’ve seen this before with horse armor and gambling in video games. If you allow a little they are going to take a mile with it. That point I don’t consider it art anymore. AI is not art.

If that’s the case I’ll find another hobby. I’m tired of compromising myself because well they get away with it. AI Bros can blow me.

No AI in video games, period. We’ve learned when we draw the line the major players push at it until they get what they want. AI benefits the wealthy, no one else. AI data centers are a blight on communities.
