OMG, i thought I was the only one! Jc3 was great, but JC4 felt like a slog.

It’s an interesting concept, but the pvp was a huge turnoff. Maybe it’d be different if there was an option to form an alliance or truce while above ground, but then it’s just PvE with one massive team.

What like the songs or Kindle books that can be removed from your library next time your computer logs onto the Internet due to a licensing dispute?

With more games and systems requiring online access every X number of days, downloads don’t mean shit.

I’ve got 64gb RAM on my machine but the highest I’ve seen it was 36gb on arch. (City-sim game running + 20 YouTube tabs.

Pulled my 360 out of storage a couple years ago and it instantly red ringed when I tried to power on. Hopefully you have better luck

Well, even underclocking it won’t make it run that cool. Sounds like a radiator & pump and tubing might be cheaper than buying a dead card and cannibalizing.

Or you could always try to sell it and get a newer card

AMD using one socket for 8 years and 5 generations…

So far. They could still release newer am4 processors, if they choose

Don’t forget the rdram in the N64 that Sony didn’t use until PS2/3

I’m assuming the type of person who would insist on Nvidia is also the type of person that would insist on new hardware

Just making sure you realize the company would have the copyright for anything you create while on the clock…

Taiwan iirc, and they have a 32% tariff from US.

Shame they don’t have Linux support but it would be great for those who can use it.

I thought support for battle mage was added in 6.12?

Would you happen to be including AMD’s new strix point Mobile cpu in that comparison? They seem to be at the very top for mobile CPUs currently.

If you were including those, what workloads is Intel still better at?

Increased resolution probably wouldn’t make a difference, but keeping the framerate at a steady 30 (or even better 60) would make a noticeable difference. At least it did when I played it on PC

I bought it at release and emulated it 2 days after. Much smoother on PC, even with shader recompiling. Only reason I did it was to remove the duplication patches, but the improved graphics fidelity was a major side benefit.

At least the joycons were easier to open and work on than the xbox and PlayStation controllers I’ve opened up. The sticks are diy replaceable, but I wouldn’t recommend a shell swap unless you have really steady hands.

I honestly think it’s fantastic. It’s really only available on high end cameras right now, but putting it into a mass market device like a switch means they’ll become more commonly used in other devices since manufacturers won’t need to worry about users having the newer faster cards in hand already.

Someone needed to be the first mover so that everyone else can start putting these in other devices.

Fwiw, I remember hearing that Nintendo was looking at using an AMD soc, but the nvidia entry was more power efficient at the desired resolution/frame rate.

Iirc it’s an nvidia arm chip with a little over 1500 cuda cores from the ampere generation(30 series), so less power than a 3050 (non ti) which has 2300-2560 cuda cores.

Would be kinda neat to have it as a dedicated ray tracing card, like the phys-x cards of yore

Grandpa’s got an extra twitchy trigger finger, better watch out!

Hmmm I remember THPS2 had a banger track list that I’d probably be willing to pay extra for, but I can’t remember 3/4 much at all

I only read heard him read the last 3 books+ novellas after watching the show, and he REALLY did the accents well

*Except Bobbie, not enough southern hemisphere OZ/NZ twang

piloting my 3 ton pedestrian shredding murder machine.

No, no, it’s a 3 ton pedestrian crushing murder machine. Unless you’re driving a swastitruck, then those sharp corners and edges will shred you.

The church Henry the 8th started when the Pope wouldn’t let him get divorced. It and Catholicism have traded places as the UKs official state religion a few times over the years, causing absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Sorry, my point was that spider pig was more likely than spider ham due to cross licensing issues between Sony and Marvel

With Disney buying Fox spider pig might actually be possible

That’s fair, if you don’t need medium high graphics performance, going down to an apu would quiet down the fans a lot.

Or get a 7600xt or 4060 and reduce the gpu power draw from 275w to 165w~115w while doubling the graphics capabilities

The GPU in the 5600g is half as performant 1050ti, which is already like half of a 390

Yeah 6 months sounds about right from my recollection. It was available for a while after they released the steam deck, and something like 6-8 months ago they started redirecting to the deck os instead.

Oh, I’d be willing to bet the long wait has something to do with Nvidia drivers.

I switched to arch a couple of months ago and the Nvidia drivers were one of the most confusing parts.

Lol, I’d be fine with them leaving it as is, if only they’d make a general release of OS3

Nope, been like that for months.

Eta: it was mentioned in a bringus studios video a couple months ago, iirc installing steam on a cardboard box

Nope, the download link actually redirects to the arch based steam deck os.

Tbf, I only know because I watch too much YouTube and bringus studios mentioned it a couple months ago.

Yeah, Linus didn’t actually bother clicking the links. The old OS download links redirect to the arch based steam deck os
