She’s a wealthy British lady …so yes, a sociopath.

Nah, the correct business model is to have a system that’s easy to develop for to the point that it has a large and exciting open source and homebrew community attached (which you encourage with events and competitions), and you’re just basically selling them hardware, code, merch, tutorials, assets, and getting a cut of their game sales.

…then you also release your own games, and later spin off the IPs into globally recognized characters and franchises.

Ubisoft don’t really want you to have their games, and they’ll delete them from you when they want. It’s not a company that can be trusted anymore.

They should be boycotted out of business.

Playing a year 2000 game on a conaole from 2006 makes no sense. Of course things aren’t going to like up and the controls will feel like junk, almost like it was just theown together six years later to boost sales or something.

So much better than always hearing about her cousin at Nvidia.

Trying to get over your work related burnout through doing more work - is probably the dumbest AND worst idea I’ve heard in a while. Why would anyone do that other than that they’re in a kind of pathological denial or hace unresolved issues driving such behavior.

It’s irrational.

Blizzard wants to hide the fact that Warcraft and Warcraft II were fun, and in a completely different genre than WoW…

…and they weren’t subscription model games. I liked those games. Good Solo games, very replayable with various AI skirmish modes, and you could even get a map editor.

Can you eject from your mech like you could waaay back in Mech Warrior 2?

…are we accidentally going to open a portal to hell by trying to get doom running on something it shouldn’t? Is that how it finally happens?

That would be the Ultimate Doom. Real Doom too.

…and all so they can steal our collective content, creativity, and every piece of individual thought or content we’ve ever communicated online.

…with the aim of exploiting it to make billionaires richer.

…a “leveraged loan” usually means there’s a contract to sell a natural resource for a very cheap price (far below the market rate) if the loan isn’t paid back. That’s the “leverage” that makes the loan (usually to an otherwise poor country) “good” in the eyes of the world bank.

So that’s what happens. If they refuse to give up the goods, they’ll get down graded, possibly refused global banking services, or put on an embargo list… And they’ll probably arrange ownership of the mine/refinery/wells and have them secured with private security forces anyways.

When you’re too questionable for the world bank - who regularly offers leveraged loans to dictators they know are going to embezzle the cash and flee, leaving whole countries destitute.

…even those guys are like - “nah, Elon Musk clearly has a questionable character”.
