ah, new mombasa bridge. one of the best shooting galleries there is

yea that’s just playing on semantics. Of course machine learning will keep assisting many different workflows, thank you Tim.
Go ahead with your ML-assisted procedural animations, your ML-enhanced denoising, your ML-powered stochastic mesh pruning.

What people don’t want is generated visuals/music that try and pass off as art. I’d love to summon debility to explain that the ruling class doesn’t get it, but they do -it’s a convenient way for them to save on human labor that is also… just too tempting to use for replacing art as well.

openmw is a different thing, I think it’s currently in development. Morrowind (the original binary) works fine

Visually speaking there are many mods than you can add to modernize the experience

It’s possible. I replayed it recently and found it amazing. Granted I had installed a handful of mods for better prop/textures, as well as a water shader. But the atmosphere and worldbuilding are unmatched in subsequent TES games imho.

Did you enjoy playing it ?

I haven’t played Thief but it’s supposed to be a big inspiration for Dishonored afaik. Splinter Cell is fantastic but plays so differently it’s hard to compare… I guess Prey 2017 is closest, if you play a stealth build. There’s also Styx but I haven’t played it yet. Apparently pretty cool

yea, mofo sold me out & scolded me and he took an arrow in the ear for it

I bought 2x Ultimate 2 for a total of 108€ and that was with a relay fee, I’m surprised at the prices you mention

I don’t think so… To be honest starfield didn’t strike me as much of an rpg, the main thing you did in that game was shoot. That was part of my disappointment. No, I don’t know of any “indie multi-genre Morrowind in space” unfortunately, that definitely sounds dope

No Man’s Sky doesn’t even work 😂 I’ve never been able to play more than 5mn, it crashes consistently. So I really couldn’t say. But please, do assume the best when asking.

To answer your question, my space game itch was scratched in recent years by… Astroneer, which blends nostress survival, terraforming and exploration. Very cool in co-op. My shooting & looting itch was scratched by Risk of Rain Returns (also space themed… mostly). Those are rather big and successful games, nothing obscure. I watch “Best Indie Games” on youtube to help make my picks.

I am not interested anymore, sorry… the indie scene makes much, much better games than whatever starfield is. It’s honestly a little heartbreaking because I am a longtime Morrowind fan but obviously the magic is gone

Keep your expectations in check with Starfield, I was sure I was going to love it but dropped it after 25hrs, it’s not very alive or entrancing imho. However I am confident in the narrative-centered game design from Machine Games to be sure I’d enjoy this Indiana Jones

That’s the one. They have a UE5 rendering layer running on top but the logic is all Blam engine from Reach

Yes, I can confirm he mentions his adjustments to jackal snipers in “overhauling the covenant”

I’m pretty sure he did, but not sure where he talks about it. You should try watching his older livestreams on the early levels, or his recent “overhauling the covenant” video.

I’ve been watching Ruby’s last few livestreams, it’s amazing what he’s doing. The changes are much more in depth than what he did with CE : jackal shields, fighting marines when playing as the arbiter, revamped fight against the prophet of regret… he was working on the quarantine zone recently, which makes him over two thirds of the way through.

I heard nothing in CryEngine 2 was multithreaded because they bet on processors getting better single core performance instead of getting more cores (which is what happened). Not sure about the gpu load though

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I was wondering how he’d managed the puzzles

If yall like these games there’s a spiritual successor to Riven that just came out, Neyyah -> https://store.steampowered.com/app/1289720/Neyyah/ It was made by a solo developer, looks really beautiful. I haven’t played it yet.

It’s time to nope the fuck out of the Microsoft ecosystem altogether, if not already

hmmm, that kind of statement makes me long for my ol’ eyepatch

yes, that’s what I heard. phew, actual cash would shatter the internet lol. “Beloved indie team falls to predatory microtransactions”

yea, that’s entirely valid. I love these games (Metroidvanias) because of the exploration and worldbuilding. The combat is a way to advance further into that world, but it’s just a means to an end to me. Make it too tough, and you’re preventing me from enjoying the parts I like.

I played a good 4 or 5 hours of Silksong so far and loving it. It’s a little tough though, and I think it could use a nerf.

The majority of PC players must have bought it on Steam. I’d imagine something like 97%

11 dollars ? US dollars ? how does that cole to be ? It’s priced 18 euros in Mayotte, I imagine it’s the same price on mainland France but I haven’t checked

Download failed 4 times in a row from GOG. I was able to get it like 20mns later. It’s beautiful.

So far all my attempts have culminated in a freeze followed by a crash after one to five minutes of play during the tutorial sequence. Let’s see if that update changes things
