I liked it, but similar to Elite they both seem to end up with a problem of “yeah, now what?” after playing for a while. Yet I have enjoyed other sandbox games like Wurm for many 1000s of hours, while Elite and NMS I only have 1200 and 400 hours in. Maybe the lack of multiplayer interaction? I know you can group up but doesn’t seem like something that really happens through gameplay alone.

Surely it wasn’t illegal when out of the US at the time. Alternatively give the instructions to someone else to publish.

Yeah, dislike that you can keep the fix hidden to yourself. It should be public so others can also fix their stuff.

MMORPGs have pretty different mechanics alone. Just because most are WoW clones doesn’t mean that is the only thing. EVE for example is very different.

Desktop Linux on phone (or even better, tablet) hardware would be very interesting to me. But with how locked down bootloaders are in those devices? I don’t have much hope for them currently.

Wouldn’t they at most have to comply with a DMCA takedown request within a reasonable amount of time? At least that seems to be what major platforms do. Not actually sure what happens for smaller platforms and many lemmy instances are hosted and owned outside the US too.

To you perhaps. Cinema is less than half that cost here and even then I go less than once a year because I don’t really feel like most films that come out are worth bothering to see given the combined effort and cost.

Yes, so an entry level gaming PC without any extras like screens should be even cheaper

Surely the steam deck is comfortably entry level?

If it was a loss leader and non gamers also look to buy it and never touch steam. Doing that at a loss isn’t a great idea.

Plus PCs cost fuck all compared to staff, may as well get them efficient tools if they will be using them a lot.

Exactly, can’t pay corporation tax on a loss because corporation tax is only paid on profit. Worked in a small company before and heard moaning from high up about having to pay corporation tax when Amazon don’t. We could have paid no corporation tax simply by giving everyone a pay raise.

Think I would agree there, small reddit communities are also going to be more resistant to it. Small hobbyist stuff probably one of the better ones.

Yeah, I suspect most of /r/prisonhooch is still legit content, but it is kinda a rejection of commercialism. Not much you could sell them. A fermenting tub? The fuckers will use a water butt instead.

Reject consumerism, embrace FOSS.

Haven’t even bothered making an account on epic for the free games or what ever they are offering. I just don’t care, steam is so much better. Got a few games in GoG too but I wish they did a little better in the Linux support side of things.

Fork it and use your own texture and sound pack doesn’t sound like much work tbh. Any major modpack could just redistribute the game as a fork and it would be awesome. But Microsoft probably don’t want that.

Because then anyone could fork it and redistribute the game which I presume they don’t want.

It would be sweet for us if they did, but I can see why they don’t want to do that.

I should play that again, probably start a new world/char because so much has changed since I got it almost 4 years ago.

There is plenty of shit on steam that I wouldn’t buy, just don’t buy it

I have wondered when they will push to increase minimum subscription duration. Presumably if too many people frequently sub for a single month.

Not even sure what counts as inverted for flying, push the stick forwards = dive, pull it back = climb. Pretty sure that is normal for flight sims though because that is how you fly a plane. Space sims end up going with the same kind of input usually.

Would love a coop focused extraction shooter tbh. Payday 3 could have gone for that actually, its essentially just an economy change.
