This is a really interesting question. In my opinion, absolutely yes. It’s a piece of someone’s hobby, a passion large or small. A time capsule of things that made someone happy.
Beyond that, in cases like the authors friends love of Sea of Thieves, it can show a bit of the community they sought, the people they interacted with. A small tendril of ourselves, reaching out and entwining with others.
And, for those who maybe only knew the person online, never had the chance or want for an in-person meetup, it’s a place to mourn. A digital marker of a life once lived, a finished book of memories. The games themselves may come and go, but the traces they left will be there, captured in achievements and screenshots, to be shared as long as a copy exists.
It’s been 13 years. 3 released all the way back in the PS3/360 era.
Not complaining about more Ninja Gaiden. Just feels a bit weird to see 4 after what feels like the series was just left on hiatus. Kinda figure they’d take the chance to get a fresh start, though the plot seems like it’s more a soft reboot.

You have activated one of my hyper fixations(people who do hour+ essays on the most useless of shit). If you can handle the occasional 1-3 hours of a monotone voice, Davey is actually a lot of fun.
One of my favorites, his list of war crimes featured in the Pokedex. He’s also done StarCraft stuff(obviously), Balloons Tower Defense, and a few other things. He also doesn’t really post terribly often. It can take months for him to record and edit a project down, and he normally has 2 or more going at once.
Bonus: You’ll get to learn about Bug. Bug is a good boy. We love Bug.
Deus Ex and System Shock should definitely be on your list, just skip Deus Ex: Invisible War.
Also, as I don’t see them listed, did you check out Blue Shift and Opposing Forces? They’re 2 Half-Life expansions made by Gearbox, back in the day, that show the events of HL1 from different points of view.

Is Gearbox just ultra-sympathetic to their fans(not calling this a bad thing, I genuinely hope they are) or does getting diagnosed with a terminal illness make you go “Y’know what? Fuck it”.
Cause I feel like when I read “terminally ill fan”, it’s either about when Blizzard gave a fuck about their players, or Borderlands.

It was supposed to be a part of one, until the studio went into bankruptcy and ended up being partially owned by New Jersey.
The story behind KoA is absolutely nuts. They wanted to make an MMO sequel, with R.A Salvatore still on the writing, but due to bloat and mismanagement, ended up massively in debt and plans for a sequel got scrapped.

Yeah, even if they want to keep it primarily to the collecting, there needs to be more.
I know it’ll never happen, but I remember Konami putting out Yu-Gi-Oh cards with special codes on them to coincide with some of the games. You typed in your code, you unlocked that card in-game. Would be nice if TPC could work out something similar, so your actual efforts could be part of your digital collection.

Xenogears deserves the FF7 treatment, damn near. They’d have to straight up recreate the second disc that was absolutely butchered into what we got.
Now, if we can get that rolling, can we also throw Saga into the mix? Please? Fuck, just pretty up the front half in an emulator, but give us the proper ending. 3 totally redone, in it’s original design, and a complete 4th chapter.
Tell these stories right, the way they were meant to be told.

Wasn’t this also in the big FPS Wave of the era? I keep wanting to put it alongside Resistance: Fall of Man, and kinda remember that being the defining trait of most of those titles. Decent, but overall forgettable, experiences.
That somehow culminate in the existence of Haze, and we should be ashamed of ourselves as a species for that.

There’s just a mild dissonance between that title(which is an awful thing, hopefully they all land on their feet after this), and the happy as fuck Disney Magic Kingdoms image.
You happy about this, Mickey? Does this please your cold corporate heart? They shoulda tied you to the anchor and left you for erased, you sick rat.
Yeah, sure, the same way I made BL3 happen.
Wait until the DLC is all out and hit the high seas.
