Yes, sort of. I absolutely hate the visual artifacts from TAA and from upscaling, which are both much more commonly used in UE5 games.
I’m also much more likely to try custom-engine games, just because I think people making their own engines is pretty cool ! I have only implemented very basic stuff myself, but it was very interesting to do !

I checked out of Fortnite when the brand partnerships started. I really liked the first few seasons though…
It felt like the game had a strong identity that was challenging PUBG’s nonsense. No complicated inventory, just 5 slots. 1 or 2 weapons per category with very well defined playstyles, no incomprehensibly complicated weapon mod system on top. Building is very cool and raises the skill ceiling so high too !
And the style was cartoony and silly : you don’t get cars, you get shopping carts ! Characters have no voices, the “laugh” is a donkey sound !
But when the brand deals started coming, they started wilfully throwing away their identity to replace it with recognizable IP. So I quit.

I think the NVIDIA people just saw that it’s «more realistic» and that was good enough for them. And, to be fair, it is.
But they are so drunk on AI that they missed the inconsistencies, the fake imaginary lights, the impossibility of controlling the result, the random addition of makeup, the fact it fucks up color balance and contrast…
And the COST !? Two 5090s when most people couldn’t even afford one !? Even if the results were perfect, just forget about it ! No sane developer will spend any money on a feature less than 1% of their players will even experience, let alone enjoy.

Matrix is a joke of a protocol. The idea is play but there was clearly no theoretical work before implementation, so they’re running after obvious security holes now.
In Brookhaven I usually break into people’s houses by exploiting the sleeping bag and the ladder.
I have a “cardboard box” outfit made especially for that purpose so that I can hide and look like a prop.
People get exceedingly mad when you rob their house’s money safebox, even though that doesn’t actually take any money from them in-game at all, and I think that’s hilarious.

I don’t understand why people still buy consoles. There used to be so many reasons to do so, that are all evaporating away…
Everything is evaporating away, I don’t think there is a point anymore.

I’ve never cared for Xbox but at least it had a personality before Xbox One. An annoying, idiotic personality that I thoroughly disliked, but it had a personality nonetheless. It was the “fratbro” of the pack.
Ever since Xbox One though, the fratbro graduated and suddenly became the most bland and boring corporate guy you’ve ever heard of. And as every corporate guy nowadays, he now has caught the AI brain rot.
If this is a big enough part of your personality to base your dating search upon… That’s sad.
