Kinda surprised by all the trouble folks have had with Xbox controllers, my experience has been smooth as on any console

Folks that would/could do that are not the folks this seems geared towards IMO, and I think it may whoosh a lot of us on Lemmy because in general we like to tinker and figure tech out, that’s obviously not ubiquitous, but the vast majority of people(read consumers) do not want that at all. I also suspect the Steam Machine will be priced right around $500 to compete with the PS5, depending on their sales expectations they could legit make this a loss leader.

More likely geared towards the average PC gamer that just wants to play games and doesn’t give a fuck about OSS or Linux in addition to lifelong console gamers that prefer controllers on couch gaming but are interested in all the other perks/freedoms that PCs offer. I was in the latter group about a year ago when I bought my deck.

This is really insightful and very good advice

It fucking sucks how much this point illustrates the reality of this time. But it’s upsettingly accurate

It’s crazy to me that COD is still doing the exact same thing they’ve been doing since I stopped enjoying them ten years ago.

I almost said the Laptop Gun too. That game was full of cool and original weapons, second only to the Turok series

It definitely wasn’t as good as GTA but my friends and I had a blast playing it

Anyone that’s gets that bent out of shape about shit this frivolous is either unhinged or insanely privileged

I hope you’ll be able to unlock her OP mode for second playthroughs, wouldn’t be compelling for the first run but I loved playing as unstoppable Ciri

Stardew Valley, Skyrim, and Halo 3 probably top my list. I dumped like 400 hours into Stardew during Covid lockdowns and a few hundred more after

I don’t play sports games but am a huge college football fan, passionate doesn’t really even begin to cover it

Also madden, fifa, ncaa and all the sports games

Assault on the control room is my personal favorite level to play, but Silent Cartographer is about as perfect a Halo level as you could ask for

That would be a really smart move by Larian, effectively creates an infinite market for the game. Say what you will about Skyrim and Bethesda but that game still shits money

Naw fuck that, Bethesda gets from Virginia up through New England, I want obsidian to get a crack at the southeast and Midwest

Kinda but I also have to be careful because how addicted I get to it, also in the middle Rebirth

Stardew Valley by a wide margin, probably dumped close to 1000 hours into it overall

The grind is fun for me, but once you get through a few seasons there’s also so much time to explore and talk to the villagers

If they are gonna do it they should really do it properly like with FFVII remake/rebirth

It sucks for Cintra, but there are other ways for them to operate, but you definitely can’t take money for for something like an emulator directly

I’m gonna time out a replay of the first two leading into the release of the third if I’m still alive

Definitely pleasantly surprised he seems to have a good head on his shoulders

What the fuck, see know nothing about computers, despite a career in IT and a homelab addiction

When I read shit like this I realize I don’t know a damn thing about computers

Honestly after the Cyberpunk debacle I can easily see why, the decisions that led to that were almost certainly made by marketing and C-Suite and not the devs. Someone correct me if that’s wrong. If they actually learn from those mistakes I have no doubt they’ll reclaim the rep they had after the Witcher 3

This, I already never play anything online because it’s not fun to suck, either constantly getting killed in competitive matches or being a drag on my team in coops. And I don’t have the time or energy at the end of the day to do that, but I do like playing games with others

I do feel for the folks that are very good and have to wait long times because that ruins the game for them but is it really an enjoyable competition if you’re just annihilating everyone every match, does that not get boring? Handicapping can keep it interesting for everyone it just needs to be scaled properly

Super unpopular opinion, I can’t relate to South Park anymore, even the old episodes I used to love are kinda painful. Maybe I’m old. But the old episodes of the Simpsons still hold up, the old South Parks feel out of touch to me

I feel like this game was the free monthly game around the original release of Cyberpunk and it surprised me by how great it was, pretty straightforward as a post zombie apocalypse survival shooter but they just got the vibe exactly right

When they release it it won’t matter, which doesn’t make it less dumb but they won’t suffer consequences for it.

I say that shit a lot but I always end with “we’d all have a merry Christmas”

I agree, but he technically was an executive that got what was coming to them, or at least received something close to a just punishment. If they all got what he got we might have less assholes ruining everything for profit

iMessage is by far the biggest hurdle for Android to overcome in the US. Convincing your friends to use a third party app just so you can participate in a group chat is next to impossible
