On lemmy? Yes. And the small nature of it makes it obvious. But lemmy also goes for the negative outrage stuff more than things of interest, and it’s smaller, so like I was saying. One person making the same post to a bunch of communities makes it stand out a lot,.

Honestly, I think it’s probably just time to delete the app. Lemmy isn’t what I hoped it would be. We’ll it was at first and for a good few months. But eventually the good people move away.

I think the thing that bothers me most about lemmys whirlwind of negativity about everything is that you get people like op, that find something they want to spread negativity about, then they post it to a bunch of communities.

Lemmy is small, so you see this one thing over and over and over again. It’s so tiring.

I get that this kind of stuff isn’t something to be positive about, I’m just getting so tired of lemmy. At least reddit didn’t have a constant stream of negativity. Multiplexed through every subreddit.

I’m convinced it’s this kind of thing that’s killing the entire thing. You can’t build communities on this, so there’s less and less people looking every day. I know I look at lemmy a lot less than I used to.

Whilst this is nice. I’ve had a color ebook reader for maybe four years. It’s not a new technology.

Yes, op is a little confused.

  • Browsers (were, still are in many regions) forbidden from using any engine other than the iOS provided webkit.
  • Dynamic recompilation is not possible on iOS because of how iOS does code signing. This basically blocks the entire concept of executing instructions that weren’t part of the original signed code.

Git isn’t very good with large binary files, git blame doubly so. There’s asset management systems but finding when a hate symbol was added to something binary is gerally going to be difficult

This isn’t really what happened with the dreamcast. It didn’t sell well, and more importantly, it didn’t sell well enough to cover the cost of making new dreamcasts. Sega well supported the system, but could not afford to stay in the hardware business.

My experience is not enhanced but also not diminished, so it’s fine. The moment I have a worse experience, then I’ll complain, but right now, it’s complaining about theoreticals.

Op is just doing the outrage culture thing that has taken over lemmy, basically won’t be happy unless they remove every single micro transaction (that you 100% don’t need and isn’t the intended experience)

Yeah, and it’s pretty much hit a wall. Both because of massive oversaturation causing people to not be able to find new interesting things amongst the 100 new titles released daily, ans because indy studios can’t find any funding at all anymore.

Successful indies helping out the indie industry is the only way it’ll grow, a big award show that gets people’s eyes is the kind of marketing most developers could only dream of. But they a really going to have to treat each nomination as a commercial, people need to be sold on these games

Assuming they don’t just pick the devs that were already thinking of. If it’s just that then it’s probably pointless

Your bank would probably just deny it, it’s been four years since they sold them.

I’m not excited about it, I’m just not writing fan fiction so I can get more mad about it.

You can say the company has a history of mistakes, that’s fine. That’s not what op did and you know it.

The software aspect I won’t argue with. But I will go against the chip design. In 2024, most parts of most chips are built from library prefabs, and outside of that, all the efficiencies come from taking advantage of what the chip fab is offering.

That’s why these made up nm numbers are so important. They are effectively marketing and don’t have much basis in reality (euv wavelength is 13nm~, but we’re claiming 6 now) - what they do indicate is improvements in other aspects of lithography.

Apple aren’t the geniuses here, which is why their M chips were bested by intels euv chips as soon as Intel upgraded its fabs to be more advanced than tsmc for six months. It’s all about who’s fsb is running the bleeding edge.

There are so many big budget games out recently that I’m massively backlogged on just 2024 games.

I don’t ascribe to this weirdo youtube fed narrative that everything is bad now, everything is so good right now I’m having an amazing time.

The smartest thing Apple has done in the past decade is buy TSMC a factory. They just gave a TSMC a factory for free, with the deal being they have guaranteed time every year, no fighting.

That’s what let them make their own laptop cpus, time. The M cpus aren’t good because of arm, or apple geniuses, but rather TSMC bleeding edge tech and high yeilds. And of course, every company that didn’t buy TSMC a factory has to fight for time, meaning everyone else loses out.

The costs of being a bleeding edge chip fab make reproducing tsmc elsewhere unattainable.

I’m saying that asking for information on the details of what is or is not in it, is a bad idea. because we don’t know, you don’t know, anyone getting mad and saying one thing or the other is a bad idea.

saying that it can’t make higher framerates when framegen exists is a bad idea, until we know it doesn’t do that.

i’m so tired of this community, reddit was better. be better.

Please. I’m pointing out how all you want to do is get mad about things and are in such a fervour to do so that you won’t even wait for the thing to exist to get mad about it.

You want to get mad? Fine, but don’t write fan fiction then get mad about that.

I’m so tired that this kind of opinion has infested lemmy discourse. Reddit wasn’t this bad.

Wait for shit to come out before getting mad at it. You don’t have to write fan fiction on how mad you are about something just so you can get your anger based serotonin fix early.

The “better option” is subscription services where you own nothing and the bottom drops out of the industry, just like music and film. You can cheer for that if you want, but it is not in the interests of the consumer.

This is like saying new pcs barely have a reason to exist because old pcs can play some new pc games.

No, there won’t be another xbox. Phil Spencer is angling to get gamepass on nintendo and sony. But he’s going to have to force it through the courts and government legislation, much like epic is doing with mobile stores now.

It’s a play for gamepass, not the consumer

You can frame this as I don’t like non cosmetic microtransactions if you like. But you have to agree that isn’t what 99% of the online discourse is doing. Almost everyone is making statements that are not true because they want to feel outraged and want others to feel outraged, and because they have been lied to by another person’s outrage.

It’s a hurricane of lies, and it’s honestly been worse on lemmy than on reddit.

Putting (not realistic) after your first sentence, there was a little funny. That’s not something that happens in real life

There was never any need. All the micro transactions were just time skips for the dumb. The systems are the same dragons dogma systems they had in the first one. They didn’t artificially change things to be grinder. They just put in paid for cheats.

If you want to use them, that’s fine, and certainly, this over paying for it. But people framing this as a need is bad. Which is expected of eurogamers headlines the past few years.

I gave up on cyberpunk 20 or so hours in. The lack of interesting side stories is a part of the reason why. This feels like the article is gaslighting

It’s okay to just say I was wrong. Reddit was better than lemmy has become honesty. It’s full of this shit.

It’s the same system as the first game. They designed the same system. I don’t know what is so hard to understand about this. They added skips for idiots that want to pay extra, but for the rest of us it’s the same damn thing as it was last time.

Honestly, I can’t take the outrage culture of lemmy anymore. It’s made this place unbearable.

It’s the same experience that was in the first game. It’s not worse, it’s the intended experience.

You literally can, fast travel is a part of the game. And just like in the first game it’s limited behind an item. It’s is the exact same system the series has had for a decade. Just they let rich idiots skip the system.

Again, it’s the same exact system that was in the first game

It’s the photo mode, it’s just ingame images. Literal screenshots. This is stupid.

The trailer is all ingame content. The game has been out for a year, it’s not that hard to check. None of it is a bullshot.

Fwiw, their “parry game” is quite fun. Coming from someone who loves nioh. “Bad reviews” are generally just “this isn’t going to change your life” but we can’t describe things in ways other than absolutely good or absolutely bad now.

I’m tired of every game being spoiled if you happen to engage with any amount of social media because of leakers. I’m okay with that not happening anymore. You can wait a week.

I look forward to this video every year. An industry animator talks about the best animation found in last year's games. There are always lots of games I've never heard of, and I end up appreciating something about a game that I've never thought about before.
