Reality is that ethics are subjective restrictions we place on ourselves and each other. When these restrictions aren’t maintained, the choice of harming another for one’s self benefit loses its inherent consequencial dread.
Those who don’t fear the results of their actions cannot weigh the possible risks involved. And when there are no risks seen, only the possible benefits remain.
As per my understanding, Sweet Baby Inc was/is a DEI consultant that would advise on accurate portrayal of minorities in games that wished to have them represented.
How accurate they were/are or how much their input is being used, I can’t say, however the easily swayed have taken to the idea they’re an evil shadowy cabal that mind controls companies and has them add brainwashing techniques meant to bring about the downfall of western society (the MAGAts that is).

I’ve had Airship: Kingdoms Adrift for a while and gave it a go. It’s got neat broadside naval combat in the air and you can customize components in ports. There’s a small chance to capture enemy ships under certain conditions and make yourself a fleet or send trade convoys on their own from port to port.
It has a main mission though and kinda acts like a tutorial so, not sure how far along one has to follow it to unlock everything.
Butt the mission rewards are kind of silly. Gave me some warehouse plans to increase port storage, but no idea when I’ll get to use it or where, if at all.
Need resources probably, but i didn’t get that far and the costs are way above what i can poach.
Then gave me a piece of equipment too big for the ship I have, so again, useless at the moment.
Anyway, feels off. Maybe I’ll get back at it, maybe not… Who knows.
Not just your experience, all of the games I’ve seen have a steady pulse of reviews about giving up due to of older players shitting on newbies, with devs silently endorsing it or having their hands tied by management because either “that’s the way it’s meant to be played” or they have a microtransactions shop and this toxicity encourages petty rage spending to catch up.
And it works, because despite the mixed or barely positive reviews, these games still enjoy a steady stream of players enjoying the cycle of abuse.
I’d consider it an exploitation of the “do unto others what was done unto me” psychological thing we humans tend to have going on.

It may be that some games are dropping the ball and so players are looking to flock somewhere else.
For example, Helldivers 2 has some loud complainers who advertised both Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders as potential alternates. Word of mouth can do a lot of damage if the mouth is loud and persistent enough.

Installed Reverse: 1999 on Monday or so and already have over 20+ hours of play time.
Nonetheless, it’s a gacha game, so I’m slowly reaching the ceiling.
There are several mini-modes to waste your time in and sadly, they’re fun to play - for a while at least.
Don’t know how long this will last, but if you’re into gacha games with weird plots and a ton of words and audio, this thing has plenty of 'em.

Suddenly felt like playing something with friendly fire.
Tried Counterstrike 2, but I lost 5 rounds to bots of the introductory 12 and it let me know I’m not that able anymore.
Then I remembered I had Hell Let Loose and went for that. Yeah, I suck. Can’t see anyone, feels like the foliage is useless to hide me out of sight, I build the wrong things in the wrong places etc.
But it has friendly fire and I’m good at that.
It has, but not for everyone. They’re randomly offered to players, but I’m unsure of any hidden criteria to trigger the pop-up.
