I didn’t hear a single thing about this game until literally right now.

I’ve never played it and that’s exactly what it seemed like from the article. Anytime a audio/developer releases an Anniversary Edition or something similar it’s just a cash grab that plays off of people’s nostalgia for the game (I’ll admit, I’ve bought Skyrim multiple times) and usually doesn’t change much, if at all.

That is the point, most people don’t do research and see “ahh a bigger number, it must be better!”. 1Khz refresh rate may be a niche thing now but in two years every company will be pushing something similar.

Screen technologies for a lot of things has gotten to the point where your eyes literally can’t tell the difference, but sure, dump money into a placebo.

“Create your own penis showing game”

That’s what the tech world has come to recently, especially with monitors and smartphones.

They definitely are, I have been using 1.6 for a while, it’s just a pain in the ass to keep updating SKSE mods or those mods that support 1.6 but only older versions because the authors don’t make mods anymore.

So, they’re giving it the Skyrim treatment. I think it’s received about 10 version updates since AE launched like 2 years ago. I ended up downloading a modlist that was 1.5.97 (the original version of Skyrim SE) and ended up sticking with it since it’s future proofed.

“we’ll be mindful about placing ads in our games because we’re getting absolutely no revenue from new games we produce…which means they’ll be everywhere.”

Yep, in fact, installing it on a different drive completely would probably be your safest bet 😉 Windows may still mess with it, but if it has its own EFI System Partition, it should hopefully leave the one for Linux alone.

People don’t care and they see any pop-up it’s an annoyance and they immediately close it. I once had a student ask why is wasnt allowing her to download something. I asked her to show me what she was doing…as soon as the security warning for “do you want to save or cancel the file?” And then complain that it was broken.

I meant installing Linux itself on another drive, but having the EFI System Partition on another drive could work theoretically.

You’d be better off installing Linux on another drive if you’re going to dual boot. Windows loves to mess with the EFI boot partition which ends up borking the Linux bootloader.

If your family does more than just browse the web, there’s definitely going to be a bit of a learning curve, it’s possible though. I converted my 73 year old father to Linux after he used Windows for 25 years.

You think the average Windows user cares about security or updates? I’ve worked in IT for over a decade and I can tell you that the average person doesn’t give a damn.

Can Microsoft be any more annoying?

I had to laugh when I searched for “Vivaldi” in Edge on a new installation and Bing said “There’s no reason to switch to a new browser!”

Also back when it was just cable there were like 10 different HBO channels, with slight name variations.

I agree, but I’ve done the same thing before and people have totally taken it seriously.

Sarcasm is damn near impossible to pick up over text unless it’s extremely obvious.

Something I and probably everyone else forgets is that Looney Tunes was made in the 1930s and 1940s, not the 1990s.

Sunshine is the open source version of gamestream server, moonlight is the client. It runs on all major desktop OSes.

Starfield is essentially NMS with a storyline and better graphics.

Usually the latter, but I have played various sandbox games over the years. I find that sandbox style games tend to get boring after a while due to the repetitive nature and little variation. I’d usually skip the “fetch” quests in RPGs for the same reason.

It’s cool to build huge bases, but I see little point in if there’s only like 5 useful things that you can put in it. The majority of my space was taken up by storage containers.

I bought it about 2 years after launch, played through the main story, and then kinda got bored with it because it’s just the same thing over and over again. I came back after the first major update, played it for a few weeks and then got bored again because it was mostly a “fixing things to how we wanted them to be”. I played after the next major update as well and while it did bring some new life back into the game, it’s still essentially just “build a base to put these few things in and collect resources so you can build more stuff” or “do these pointless side quests so that you can buy/build more stuff”.

You’d probably be better off asking on XDA under your specific device’s subforum.

I haven’t rooted or installed a ROM on any devices in like 6 years, but it was possible to install a ROM just using fastboot to flash the partitions, it isn’t as easy since it takes multiple command strings. It should still be possible since all TWRP does is flash partitions. You’ll just need to flash each partition manually or write a shell script to save you the typing.

Yeah, it’s literally just to make the iPhone seem more exclusive. Apple loves to make their products seem elite and exclusive.

It’s pretty ridiculous in the Apple world, the will look down on you if your first bubble isn’t the same as theirs and their friends.

I saw this mentioned somewhere a few weeks back and I think it’s pretty dumb. It’s the price of a mid-high smartphone with like a quarter of the features. So instead of looking at a nice screen… you’re looking at a laser on your hand. Want to watch something while using your hands? Too bad!

Also I love how they say it’s “affordable” then mention that it’s about $700 🤦‍♂️

I hate it when they give something the suffix “one” when there have been multiple previous versions. This is like the 13th game in the main series, but some asshole was like “Let’s call it Mortal Kombat 1!”, same goes for “Xbox One”.

Yep, that was a good time. I hate that it’s so difficult to find local two player games now, everything is online.

God I hate all these stupid fucking launchers. Every time I go to play Cyberpunk via GeForce now I have to go through the damn launcher.

Do you mean the original MW or the rehashed one? The last one I probably played was MW2. My friend (not the one mentioned above, another friend) loved playing the co-op wave style missions, and the stealth missions.

I remember playing the one that had Christopher Meloni in it and it ran like shit on my PC which was high end. After that, I lost interest. When I moved in with the one that was addicted, I’d play with him just as a “bonding experience”, then he wanted me to play online with him , which I did occasionally. I remember trying to do the “secrets” and then having some asshole bitch me out because I moved an inch off of a platform or didn’t kill someone in time. Fuck that.

No it’s clear that it was meant to be a DLC for PS4 but they reworked it into a new game for PS5 so they could make more money. What’s better for them: $30 for a DLC or $70-$100 to rehash it as a separate game?

I feel like CoD has been a joke for like the past 5-7 years. They just keep rehashing the same thing year after year and players gobble it up. My friend is addicted to it and plays it online constantly, I stopped playing it when they shifted focus from the offline single player and two player story/missions to the online Battle Royale style games. I don’t find getting spawn killed and getting screamed at by 10 year olds fun.

My switch is hacked, I did it when they first figured out how to do it and there was no ban protection, so I’m perma-banned. He doesn’t have a switch anyway, he’d always come over and play it at my place. We’re old school.

Nice! Glad to hear that, sadly I don’t have my friend here to play it with since I just moved 1300 miles from him.

Yeah… That’s how these things work ya know. A 4 lane road has higher capacity than a 2 lane road assuming there arent any choke points.
