Imagine listening to a song you know, but the headphones keeps adding new instruments and sounds that doesn’t belong to it. It’s not consistent either. Every time you listen to the track it hallucinates new instruments. The artist were never part of these sounds.
Low quality headphones don’t add sounds that doesn’t exist in the original track. The thing with DLSS is that it adds details that doesn’t exist in the original image.
Anyone who thinks DLSS 5 is a good thing doesn’t understand art. It’s just a filter that removes all artistic intention. Like taking someone else’s artwork, paint all over it, and then claim it’s ”better”.
Doubtful initiatives like GameDate will be a threat to live service gaming. The audience excited for GameDate are likely not the types who would pay for live service either way.
Given how boring it is to watch others play it, I don’t think it will see any huge success. It will probably find a loyal fanbase, but probably not enough to sustain it long term.
2 million players gave the game a chance thanks to Geoff. I doubt the game would even get 1000 players if they decided to shadow drop it like they originally intended.
The fact that they laid off most of their staff just weeks after release shows that they couldn’t afford a slow ramp up.
I’m not sure why they need to go big budget to make FPS. I think many of the best FPS games can be found in the indie scene. Agent 64 is also looking promising.
Either way, a new TimeSplitters was never going to happen either way. This is probably the better outcome.
My fear is that when the AI bubble pops it will take many PC hardware manufacturers with it. Can Nvidia survive if OpenAI goes under? It will leave a massive hole in their finances.
A bubble popping might just make matters even worse.
Ubisoft failed because they expended all goodwill of their fan base by releasing half finished games plagued with micro transactions. People just want to play good games.
This is the same amount of disrespect as taking someone else’s artwork, put it through some yassification filter, and then call it ”fixed”
