yup this is what companies are going to pivot to and I’m already seeing it. I’ve recently had potential new clients reach out to me not to code review their vibe coders AI slop but rather something similar to “verification debt” i.e. they want to stay the course with LLMs and vibe coders BUT have someone else on board to verify everything.
I’ve told each and every one of them no, I won’t do that. Why bring someone else on board or even a team of people to verify the slop when you can can just circumvent the slop, fire the vibe coder and cancel your LLM sub, and just have the people verifying actually write the shit instead.
These places simply refuse to ditch AI. they’re too deep into it now. they’ll continue to utilize AI and Junior Devs to build their crap from end to end and then hope that someone can come in and make sure whats been produced actually works and scales. It won’t, it never will, so build times will take longer and end up costing them as much if not more than when they had a team of devs.
They all drank the linkedin tech bros kool-aid and refuse to admit they were actually drinking tech bro piss.

it is visual aids getting the axe. I’m hard of hearing myself, I can only hear out of my right ear and even then it’s not great so when I played WoW I really needed the visual queues via DBM or WeakAuras to be able to effectively participate in Raids, even pug Raids.
All that being said I don’t play anymore. the game just became mediocre story followed by the typical grind fest for gear. it’s of no interest to me anymore.

I really liked the Zune AND the Nokia Lumia with Windows. honestly the Lumia was the best phone I ever had.
At one point, Microsoft did make good products. The only good thing they have now is the Windows Terminal which IMHO is one of the best terminal emulators out there, honestly wish I could have it on Linux.

I honestly don’t know what Paradox was smoking with this one. They get the license, cool, they hand it off to a studio that…while is known for being a support dev or doing ports they DID manage to get the original Bloodlines writer on board and then it was delay, delay, delay, fire the creative team, more delay, switch studios, start completely over, call it a day, and then claim “yeah we’re not going to make one of these style games again…we’d rather continue to nickle and dime our customers with strategy games.”
Stranglehold. I friggin love this game. It’s the John Woo videogame that is technically a sequel to the movie Hard Boiled and has Chow Yun-fat as the lead. I don’t know but I just really dig this game. Similar to it Enter the Matrix I also love. I go back and replay both every so often.
It’s also a bit of a comfort type of thing as those came out in the early 00’s when I was in my early 20s and still living at home and had more money than I knew what to do with hah.

What helped me when I was a kid were games like Quake 3 Arena, Worms, and Mechwarrior 2, 3, and 4.
Q3A was because of the speed. you had to be fast with the mouse if you hoped to compete. Add to the fact that the bots in Q3A, at the time anyways, were quite good. you can play it offline with bots or even over a local LAN.
Again going back to a LAN staple but Worms is also good. you need precision with the mouse on that one. lots of geometry at play.
Finally the Mechwarrior games which really emphasize the mouse and keyboard combination. Torso Twisting and Flicking, positioning of your legs in regards to your torso, etc. really helps with mouse coordination.

I play EVE Online soooooo this happens daily? multiple times a day?
The political dramas in that game could put actual real world political drama to shame. I mean take what’s currently happening in game right now. A massive alliance named Pandemic Horde decided to evacuate the space they held. fair enough, the issue? Leadership made the announcement they were leaving said space and then…leadership quit. in the same message. Thus all the regular members, literally hundreds of them if not well over 1000, were left on their own in hostile space with all their assets stuck in stations that were now actively being shot at and destroyed by opposing alliances. The players are essentially stuck because all the upper leadership of Pandemic Horde have the massive capital ships that they could have used to save their members by getting them out of system or aiding in destroying the attackers but they said nope, we’re not going to do that. It’s a cluster fuck.

I enjoy GDQ but man do I wish they didn’t read EVERY SINGLE DONATION because some people just have the social awareness of a wombat.
Germans constantly having to remind you that the Internet exists in Germany or that they’re from some far away magical land.
The most depressing cancer stories known to man while playing some upbeat and colorful game like Kirby or something
So. Many. Relatives. dying CONSTANTLY within the same week as GDQ it seems. Like they ALL hold on until THAT specific week so their relatives can donate with a sad story.
I get that it encourages donations but really your entire motivation to donate to a good cause shouldn’t be to hear your donation stated on stream.

Well the Wachowskis have said in the past that The Matrix Online is canon as they wanted to hand the story of The Matrix over to the fans/players to do with it as they wished. They approved of Morpheus’ death in the game so I suppose that’s why it’s kinda vague in Resurrections as to how he died. Either because of the events of the game where he was killed by an assassin or simply from old age.
As far as how he was reborn in the movie he was basically “coded in” to a “Matrix Modal” by Neo and the Machines. Resurrections Morpheus was like a hybrid of Morpheus and Agent Smith. The whole explanation was the machines needed Neo to kind of remember but not quite fully remember that he was the One because it generated a lot of power for them combined with keeping Trinity in close proximity. So the Machines were kind of constantly dangling a carrot in front of Neos face. They also had to keep constantly changing his DSI (Digital Self Image) so the humans would have a hard time finding him.
So the Morpheus in Resurrections wasn’t the “real” morpheus but a program that had Morpheus’ “code”. that’s why he didn’t have a body in the real world because unlike Neo and Trinity there was no body to put him in.

The layoffs also hit Twitch which has had a notorious bot problem for years. So now they’re going to use bots to fight bots?
Honestly the best thing Amazon could do is just shut down twitch completely. It’s become a dumpster fire of its former self. It used to be about people playing games and now it’s about which streamer is sexually assaulting which other streamer and dudes putting shock collars on dogs.
also other than Nintendo a serious lack of exclusives/zero console sellers.
the PS5 has what? maybe 15 exclusives? less? whats’ the point? There’s nothing out on the PS5 that makes me say “I need to own this console” especially when many of their “exclusives” are now available on PC. I just wish they gave us Bloodborne.
I’ve owned every Playstation console with the exception of the PS5. I even had the PSP and the Vita which I adored. but yeah the PS5 is the first playstation console where I’ve said I don’t need to own it.
