If it teaches gambling and has slot machine makeup, its close enough to gambling that kids should not be exposed to it.

I mean look at the big picture. Anonymous Dev created a casino experience with poker at the core, but they changed the money to points. This same Dev is promoting several other games such as “slot machine deck builder” and “blackjack deck builder”. Please look at this from higher up. Something slimy is afoot.

Almost zero luck? So there is a component of luck in the game dressed like a casino?

You know that isn’t a reasonable take. Nice try kiddo

Calm down. Uno doesn’t resemble gambling. Balatro is gambling coded through and through. The whole PR stunt they pulled is clever:

“We totally don’t want anyone gambling. Here is a game based on poker that also involved some luck”.

I think we should bring back candy cigarettes from the 90’s. Kids won’t be influenced because its not real smoking.

Actually, can you explain to me how balatro is not gambling or encouraging gambling?

Poker is a gambling game. Balatro is loosely based on poker. Throw in some additional luck/randomness and change the money aspect to points. Gambling and addiction in general are devastating.

It would be interesting to compare brain activity of a gambling addict at the casino with a dedicated balatro player. I have my suspicions about what we would see.

Shouldn’t you be sitting in your own waste in front of a slot machine? Hurry along. The pot is getting hot! Just one more round!

Mmm gambling vidya

You can start right now. Kill your boss. Quit ya job.

Always downvote kotaku. I thought I had a filter to block posts featuring that shit rag.

Isnt’t hat the gambling game that was heavily shilled here on lemmy?

Ultra realism mode should involve a boomer with piss on the front of their pants squawking about chrome being slow while you’re under a rack fixing a punch down. In the background, your phone rings. It’s a middle manager placed by an investment firm asking if you reset the modem yet.
