How about Spindle?

Also, girl from Arkanya.

I may have some more that fit too, I’ll have to search later 👍

Damn, that’s a badass murder sesh. Looks like some end game content or something. I never got that far.

Yes it is, check out my other comment for the link 👍

My apologies then, sorry about the assumption…

Many people, myself included, think that Silksong is not balanced as well as it could be.

Anyway, yes there are quite a few mods that I’ve found so far. Balancing out some of the more egregious design choices, and adding some general quality of life changes and time savers makes this game so much more enjoyable in my opinion. The challenge is still there, the game just feels much less like it’s trying to force you to be a masochist.

Also, there are purely cosmetic mods as well for people who just enjoy a different look.

Yes, there is actually quite a few so far! Check out https://thunderstore.io/c/hollow-knight-silksong/?ordering=top-rated

There is another popular mod hosting website too, which may have more options to choose from, but I hesitate to recommend it due to the general controversy I’ve seen as of late.

Come on now, it’s fine to be opinionated on the matter but inciting an unnecessary argument doesn’t do any good. Mods are a great feature and allow many people to get even more enjoyment out of an incredible game.

Hollow Knight Silksong (mod recommendations)
What mods have you installed for Hollow knight silksong, and how has your experience been since?

Sanabi.

The main theme opener is a striking arrangement of synth notes, which admittedly end up being a bit skippable after hearing them quite a few times. However, there is a reveal moment in the story that makes it hit way harder. It stuck with me after that 😁

That is fair. I don’t think people have been complaining about the platforming too much though, mostly the combat.

Silksong makes me want to cry sad tears of defeat.

It’s so melancholy and difficult sometimes. Yeah, there’s the whole ‘get good’ argument, but there’s a lot of arguably unnecessary tedium involved that starts to feel like difficulty just for the sake of being difficult and nothing else. That’s definitely been a bit of a detractor for me, as well as a lot of others it seems.

I suppose they could be looked at in that way…

I found them to be both thrilling and frightful.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve definitely been eyeballing that one

Pluvia did not work either, unfortunately. It just gives me a error window:

Gamenative is pretty awesome, and works great for a lot of games. Also, consider referencing/contributing to Emuready https://www.emuready.com/ as well!

I tried using the winlator cmod and it would not register controller input for me. This is the video I was referencing: https://youtu.be/fr9N8lHzU1U

I’ll look that up and see if it works. Thank you.

I already mentioned I’d rather not use that one if possible. Thanks anyway though.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did mention in my post that gamenative doesn’t work with Silksong yet.

I’d prefer to run the game natively if possible. Streaming is pretty viable, but I’d rather not run two devices and if I’m running my pc I’d probably just rather play it on there anyway.

Silksong (emulation)
I purchased Hollow Knight Silksong on Steam recently, but I would like the ability to play it on my Ayn Odin 2 max as well. I am having issues getting it running though, and would like to know if there are any detailed guides out there for my specific device setup. -I have tried Winlator, but was not quite able to get it running. -Gamenative did not want to boot, and I think they are still trying to work the kinks out. -I have Eden emulator, but would need to purchase the game again and also I don't know if there's a way to transfer saves between Steam/Eden. -The only other option I'm aware of is gamehub, but I think I would rather avoid that one if possible.

Hollow Knight is amazing. If you’re into platformers or metroidvanias it’s a must play.

That’s true. Also, I think preview images would go really well with this post btw!

Interesting take. I think difficulty wise, you’re probably right. I don’t have a whole lot of experience with the Ninja Gaiden series, but I know they’re notoriously difficult. The reason I wasn’t really into it was because of the way it controlled. Locked attack directions, enemy movements, etc. Everything about the movement felt very old school to me, and I just wasn’t into it.

Personally, I didn’t really enjoy ragebound. I’m hoping this one has a different and more modern feel to it.

Yeah, I would get dinged for all three on that second point.

What would be some of the downsides? Just curious.

game looks cool. The minivan segments make me think of sly cooper

From hitman apparently. It’s in the article if you want to check it out 👍

Impossible Lair was a great game. To me, it felt like it was definitely it’s own thing but inspired by the classics. I like what they’re doing, even if YL was a bit of a miss apparently.
