Even Endeavour comes with Discover installed, and stuff like Octopi exists and is pretty bug free these days.

If you’ve never had to dig into a registry file or obscure hidden folder path in Windows, you aren’t enough of a power user to ever have to in a Linux distro either.

I gave up a while back, and can’t really nail down what actually got me over the edge to stop watching.

Really didn’t help that the one time I checked back in, because I hadn’t seen anything from him in a bit (prior to the latest scandals), all the latest uploads was him being totally unrelatable and barely even tech-relevant while trying to heat his pool with his water cooling loop.

Maybe, but it’s far more likely it’s just dependancies and other 3rd party library packages being updated.

The Steam Link Linux package also still gets the rare update now and then on my old Ras Pi, but mostly these days it’s just the Android app being given bug fixes (even though the last one is from October).

Like when TitanFall 2 was in the news about the hacked servers and so many people saw the headlines and automatically thought the “TF2” being mentioned was Team Fortress 2.

That you think it’s “odd” for Nexus to remove a bigoted anti-trans mod is such a red flag lol.

This is the leat surprising information anyone could have told me about working for LTT/LMG. Time and time again, tech jobs and game dev jobs in workplaces run by “old internet edgelords” always (always) results in shit like this.

Yeah, any carrier that sells a bespoke physical hotspot device would try to milk more money out of customers by disabling it on software in their phone’s ROM.

They definitely used to lock it behind a paywall; back in the early 2010’s the ROM they shipped had the option greyed out unless you paid for the data tier that supported it

I really just cant stand the weird plastic-looking screens they all have on the inside.

Also yeah being anywhere from double to triple the price for something that I think looks objectively worse than a regular glass phone screen is just… not gonna happen.

I like the color theming that pulls from my current wallpaper, I think it’s neat for the lockscreen clock and the settings tiles colors.

Don’t use the Material You app icons, so I don’t really have any opinions on that.

It’s already live apparently, just update to the latest version and it’s “remove ads” under the account switcher section.

The developer has confirmed on Discord that the one-time lifetime payment is planned for the full release.
